Most popular blades on here

I hereby declare the Lionsteel Round Head winner of Blade Forums most popular knife 2017.
I wouldn't go that far, but LionSTEEL did deliver a product that sold really quickly. Of course, most of the GEC and Northwood runs sell out rather quickly too. Folks on the porch love their traditionals. I keep wondering when it will all slow down. Just doesn't seem natural.

But not arguably the most popular. Which is what we are talking about.
It's the most popular in the modern traditional genre on BF. Easily.

Btw many folks are naming overall popular knives. You don't see anyone else stick-in-the-mudding, eh? ;)

From my time around here, I would venture to say that the MOST widely popular overall knives by members on BF would be;

Sebenza
Spyderco (millie, para, deli, df, etc.)
Mora companion
Buck 110
GEC traditional
SAK's

Anything after that is a crap shoot of who loves what and who hates who, but even while the above mentioned still have their critics as well, they are probably the most widely and commonly accepted "quality" knives by a majority of board members.

I'm not sure there's a real correct way to answer such an open ended question ... so many people so many brands models ... and individual tastes.

And there would be arguements amongst the groups that may like traditonal vs modern ... or high end collectors vs users ... or folder vs fixed ... etc ...

Spyderco, Benchmade, ZT/Kershaw, Chris Reeve, CPK, Case, Buck, Protech, Mora, GEC, SAK, Busse(and Kin), CKF, WE, Kizer, Reate, Ontario, Lionsteel, Cold Steel, Esee, Hinderer, Kabar, Leatherman, ETC, ETC. I am tired of typing.

All countless custom and mid tech makers. Everyone has their own experiences that will agree, or disagree with others. Style, materials, Made in ???, price, hand made, etc. All that will make people differently about all the different knives.

Overall, I see a large majority of people like Spyderco, CRK, and SAK. Although CRK are not my favorite knives, they do make well made blades.

Gotta remember, we're almost always gonna talk about what's new more than anything else. Let's compare the Roundhead to, say, the Kershaw Tilt. The Tilt had TONS of hype, people talked about it constantly and I think it's still exceptionally highly admired.

But it's pretty hard to call it a popular knife, as it's over and done with now, it rarely pops up in our discussions compared to many other widely available blades and getting one now requires a willing seller and a hefty chunk of change.

I can easily see the Roundhead going the same way. It seems like an excellent knife, but as a dealer exclusive it will probably be a pretty limited production compared to other blades and the conversation will die down.

I think accessibility and longevity are pretty important factors when considering popularity.

Here is the definition for popular: Widely liked or appreciated. Based on that, I definitely see a lot of praise for delica, pm2, manix, 940, grip. There are just so many popular blades. I think many of the reputable knife manufacturers have at least a couple blades that would be make a list of most popular on bladeforums.

Add ZT 0562cf and Spyderco Military to that list.

Yeah those roundheads don't seem all that exciting. Neither a good traditional nor a good modern. Certainly not a knife with the longevity of reputation as others that are being discussed.

Cold Steel is definitely the most popular ...

(on the Cold Steel Forum)

PM2, XM-18, ......Shigorov, lately..I guess

i've been browsing the exchange a lot last week and this would sum it up very nicely

i cast my vote for hinderer in regards to what the op supposedly meant, closely followed by spyderco
