Does anyone know what are the most popular models of Busses? Heres my deal (maybe this will help) I am doing a Christian TV show, one of the topics will be survival. Some of the top people you see on TV will be on the show teaching. Anyway I havent seen anything stronger than a Busse, Have you? I broke a cold steel trailmaster and decided Ill stick with the best. Because I have never held a Busse I figure I am going to buy everything I can get my hands on and if I dont like it, I will sell it! So I may have a bunch of knives for sale soon lol. Anyway where to start? I dont know ! It looks like I may grab an ASH, a NMFBM, a BWM, maybe a boss jack? They are all expensive so I wont keep them if they arnt for me!

What say you?

I say...

Welcome to the madness that is Bussekin and prepare your wallet for a prolonged siege! Good luck picking just one--honestly, don't know ANYONE that's been able to do that.

...keep us all updated as you fall deeper into the Infi-abyss...

Sought after means rare. Rare means REALLY expensive.

B10. Boss Jack. BWM are good choices - still lots around so you'll pay near (or even less) than full retail. Get a SHBM or a ABA and you are toast, price-wise.

Get some old school "straight handles"...SHBM, SHSH2,....these are the classics that got Busse to the top. Also E-series are some of the best production cutters/choppers out there. New stuff...very, very different,...not so into it. Looks mass produced, and does not hold the price:(

Most sought after might be an individual thing... I had owned many Busse blades over the years and had to sell a lot of them for financial reasons. The one I miss most was a "naked Purebred fighter" (PBF) If I ever find one of those again I will never let it go.

...saying that they are all pretty good ;)

Yep. SHBM, ABA, original Steel Heart, Satin Jack ... perhaps the old, original Mean Street. $$$.

But the new Boss Jack, the coming version of the SHBM, the Leaner Meaner -- all are close enough to be successful AND affordable. And I still love my CG FBMs.

Maybe rather than buying them all then selling what you do not like, narrow what you are after to save you time and money, there are several that have done what you are doing, but once you use them the value goes down some.

Do you want a chopper ?
A all around camp knife ?
A skinner ?

It would help because some of the old ones are valuable but less so after they are beat up.

Let's revisit this topic about "not holding the price" on the "newer stuff" like the "straight handles" in about 10 years... And while we're at it, lets not confuse "mass produced" with "refined and upgraded" :)

MOST of these would qualify;)

You have to get a SFNO "special forces natural outlaw" a FSH "fusion steel heart" the ASH1 is a good busse, BATAC "Badger Attack tactical" is a good carry knife. you already mentioned the NMFBM.. But for survival, all the above would work fine.
The most sought after Busse's are all military models whose names can not be mentioned :)
The one on Bussecombat.com right now is an incredible looking fighter.. spend that money!
Here are a few options.. "notice the tactical black G10 on jungle green" a great combo

I would like a knife that will chop, will skin, will be an all around camp knife. I may have to do with a larger chopper, and a smaller general use knife. I have found the shbm for 1400, and the shsh2 for 1300 another for 1100. I am a collector and understand the value of a knife. That said when I said I may buy a bunch and sell the ones I dont like, I wouldnt use those. I want 1 or 2 to use for the survival part of my shows.
