Most sought after Busse Models?

After reading many, many posts in my quest for all things Infi I would say Amy, Lexi and Pokey are the most sought after models. Just sayin!

+1 on the Busse Calendar by the way!

You may want to start with the three blade spread. Small, medium, large and fill in down the road as blades and deals you like come around. Maybe a CABS or MS on the small side,a Skinny Ash or BJ for the mid and BWM or NMFBM on the large. There are many more. These blades may not be considered rare by most but they would make good starter knives, are very usable and can be found at attainable prices. Once you have the basics covered and if you still have any money left you can find older higher priced safe queens that hold more value.

I would like a knife that will chop, will skin, will be an all around camp knife. I may have to do with a larger chopper, and a smaller general use knife. I have found the shbm for 1400, and the shsh2 for 1300 another for 1100. I am a collector and understand the value of a knife. That said when I said I may buy a bunch and sell the ones I dont like, I wouldnt use those. I want 1 or 2 to use for the survival part of my shows.

.

Those values were good about 4yrs ago, they are selling at about $300 - $400 less now........................

My oh my Trevor I can't beleive you let something that GLORIOUS go....I am shocked. I need one of those!

In all seriousness, the NMSFNO would fill your one knife category.

I was skeptical of all the hype about this blade but I recently picked one up and its a great knife, it can chop, baton, its nimble in hand and looks cool, and is even a decent thrower. Skinning may be its downfall.

Other good choices to look at are the Sarsquatch, B11 with Sar 3, fusion battle mistress with active duty... and the list goes on

For a generic camp knife, the NMSFNO does a lot of what you need. Chop, slice, baton, and more. I probably wouldn't try skinning with it as it isn't as nimble as a smaller blade would be, but it is potentially possible. I picked mine up for a little over $400, and it's worth every penny. Good luck in the hunt for your Busse white whale.

does around 500 sound right on the nmsfno?

All those prices are too high in the current market, unless we are talking unique LE versions. Pretty sure there have been SHSH2 on the Exchange that didn't sell at $900.

For a one-knife scenario, I prefer the FSH over the comparable sized NMSFNO. But those might be too large for skinning. Next size down, the SFNO is a great knife, but now you are giving up some chopping ability. Combine an Active Duty, Game Warden, or a SAR 3 with a BWM or a B10, and you have a great two knife set up. All those are not hard to find at a fair price, and would be easy to move if you decide to sell.

Good luck.

I bought an NMSFNO specifically to be my user Busse.
It appears to possess all of the best qualities of the breed for an outdoors knife.
Now if I could just bring myself to take it outside and use it....

Top knife in the photo.

Pete you are quite the photographer ;)

also dinokay or T, what is that thing? How long is the blade? It looks to posses much awesome

There are many that like the one-knife scenario but my preference is for a small knife and a light, high performance chopper.

If I were to pack only 2 Busse it would be a B11 and a CABSLE.

They are not the most sought after from a collector standpoint but they stand out to me as the best large and small Busse users.

The B11 is a very good chopper but it is light, comfortable and versatile for such a large knife. The CABSLE is a very good little slicer and it is also very versatile, comfortable in many grips. The handle is a little thin for my liking but that can be overcome easily.

The top one (B11) and second from the bottom (CABSLE).

I'm not either, but it looks like an SK variant with the blade catch ground off... I have something similar, yet not quite as lovely as that one.

Hey Eric, Jaxx nailed it. I got it from my first or second KC show I believe. If Im not mistaken its looks like Jaxx has the shorter version, and the one I had was nearly 3" longer. I would have to dig through some old post to find measurements but I am sure its here somewhere:thumbup:

Heres a similar pair I had at one time . Actually, they are so close I had take a double take at my picture Dinokay posted. (I got to find that pic in my album and label it.) I started thinking for a second that it was this one modded but then it hit me that its sitting on an old log I used for pics for awhile and the blade catch is off so its original cause I didnt have it modded.
