Most versatile/well-rounded knife you have

Amazing little knife, the blade shape is so universal, the grip so good.
I honestly could not find a more versatile knife, and I EDC it every day.

I agree 100%

Super underrated, but those who know, know!

You opened up the lanyard hole in the scales?

rd hole in the scales?

for me, the ruike jager in 14c28n is the fixed blade - 4.33" blade, excellent all around
low cost, no fear of abusing it (if reqd), the handle is great also...

if that wasn't available, probably the mora kansbol, I just wish you could get their old fashioned wood handle on it... they're still the best option from mora imho, like the plain old mora #2

Probably the "Puko" on the right. 15n20, and hickory, 15n20 bolster and end cap. Convex-scandi self made, first through tang.
If we are talking medium fixed.

Mora Companion is a pretty solid all arround when I plan on camping/whittling...making fuzz sticks.

Warncliff Tendick is my most frequently carried fixed blade. Handy warncliff...

Great taste. I have both knives and I love 'em both. The Ruike has great ergos and an attractive blade shape.

The Ruike is a great knife, and fantastic value.

I use a knife to cut thorny overgrowth regularly along hiking trails. Some are too thick and perform poorly, the knives that don't cut cleanly in one snap cut don't get carried. (I like to cut the overgrowth as I move by, standing hacking at it wastes time and energy) Right now I'm using a WE Bullit and it's great. Easy to flip, sharpens fast and it cuts cleanly. Feels great in hand and it has that solid feel.

Funny you mention the Spyderco Resiliance, I have mine in front of me right now, I was just sharpening it on my ceramic rods, right back to hair popping sharp in 4-5 strokes on a medium grit rod. I actually don't mind the steel, I think it's perfectly acceptable for standard use even though it gets a bad reputation.
I think my most useful outside knife (Gardening, abusing, general hard use tasks, even digging up roots) is my Hultafors GK Heavy Duty.
My most used folder is actually probably my large Opinel #13. I think I use that knife around the house more than any other knife, it sees a lot of food prep inside and outside. it's my go to BBQ knife and camping food prep knife too. It's basically a folding fillet chef knife.
My Spyderco Chaparral sees a lot of craft use, lots of fabric cutting, a little wood work, marking and general EDC use, cutting string opening boxes etc.
This reply is six months late, but yeah, I’m pretty fond of the Resilience. Spyderco gave the Tenacious an S35VN upgrade, and I do hope the Resilience gets the same treatment.

If I had to sell all my folders and keep one, it would be the CRK Inkosi DP. Simple, solid, a bit beefier than a Seb for tougher tasks, and a company that will stand behind it for years to come. Actually not my favorite knife, but the one that would stick around.

Last time we talked about knives you enjoyed the most or had the most fun with. This time let’s talk about something a little different. Which knife or knives in your collection do you consider to be the most versatile? By this I mean you call upon it for a multitude of tasks important to you, be it food prep, house chores, camp chores, etc., and it performs all those tasks marvelously. I’ll start!

For folders, I’d say it’s the Spyderco Resilience. Being a lower-cost tool, I don’t find myself hesitant to use it for work (without going into abusive territory). It’s proven itself to be fairly durable, and the generous blade length is certainly welcome. I use it for house chores and the occasional food prep.

For fixed blades, perhaps the Mora Kansbol. Really got fond of this knife rather quickly. It does utility work, food prep, and EDC (pocket carry) just fine. I’ve acquired plenty of blades that I don’t strictly “need” but I’d say the Kansbol is one of the must-haves.

What’s your pick? Is it a multitool? Folder? Chopper? Bushcraft blade? Or perhaps the legendary smatchet?
I just got the Mora Kansbol a few days ago. Excellent knife

Agreed, but I would keep my Insingo; I find the blade a bit more versatile.
