I bought a modular helmet and a Knox armoured shirt to try and combat the heat (and my age) when I get to Spain.

As you might guess I am old school and prefer a leather jacket, jeans, boots and a simple helmet so its quite a big departure and difficult to do/get my head around. 😇

In other news the Bunny 39 is without doubt the first, the finest, the best bar none of the bunch of 39s. 😍

I have this thing, if I see a guide dogs for the blind collection point I have to put money in or I worry about it (same with the air ambulance 🚑).

So I crossed a busy road to donate to this one outside a pet shop.

Koti bike stop in historic Chipping Campden I have my own mug there which I won in a draw, everyone is allowed to leave a mug as they serve in paper cups (by law).

Its England everything is historic or is that hysterical? 😁

Took out my brake pads and cleaned them up (see before and after photos) along with the calipers then washed and oild the chain.

It took me ages I have to take a break every so often nowadays. 🤔

You need good brakes on the Spanish mountain decents. 😁

The Knife is my workshop knife a Alox SAK with scissors ✂ and a metal file, ideal for little jobs.

I then had a quick kip then a shower and headed of for a bike meet in East Hagbourne a pretty little vilage not to far away.

Lots of bikes but weather dull so not as many as last year.

I like the 15 when of my bike as its slim, light and easy to carry in my pocket.

Tea and a slice of cake for £2.50 on the Church stall that will do nicely (though I paid more as it was worth it). 😍

Yesterday I went to Stratford on Avon, it wasnt to warm,it was overcast and threatening rain.

Just what I needed for the next bit.

I am experimenting with a new Motorcycle jacket (a bargain price of ebay) its a whole new system from Knox.

Its a totaly open mesh jacket with high abrasion resistant, lightweight high grade armour and a high safety classification for it all.

In Spain it will be mostly scorchio, but when it isnt I need to work out how to layer over the open mesh for warmth.

Which after getting a bit cold yesterday I think I have developed a good sytem.

When I arrived I went around a few antique shops looking for old English pen knives to no avail.

I also looked in a vintage watch shop which had some fantastic and classic old watches in keeping with what we like here.

Then had a nice Italian ice cream,I was joking with the young lady serving me.

When I asked for rum and raisin she said its got alcohol in it you need to show me ID she kept a dead straight face.

She got me,I was showing my veterans ID WHEN SHE SAID ONLY JOKING,I thought it was brilliant turning the joke back on me 🤣

She did give me an extra big scope though.😁

Then I went to look around the Triumph motorcycle shop and had a nice cup of tea and a sit down, loved the Elvis bike.

The ride home was a bit more layering experiment, history, I went 1 mile past Edge Hill the start of the English civil war.

I carried my Lockwood brothers Lambs foot in honour of Jacks achievent with his thread.

From a truck load I took into Mostar when it was one of the most dangerous places on the planet. 🤣
I remember the outline of the story now, cool souvenir :)

Thanks John, it's great to see more of your Lockwood Lamb :) That sounds like a great day out, and your new jacket is interesting, amazing how much protective gear has come on over the last 5 decades

Yesterday I went to see my Dad who lives close by my Corp museum.

So I nipped in to look around the shop, pick up the Corp magazine and check on my dog tags I donated to the NI section (I was supposed to hand them in on discharge but didnt).

I was also further testing out my new lid and jacket before I leave for Spain in a week or so.

I took the long way home through the beautiful English countryside.
