Start a GBU thread and name him, link to the trade thread etc.

Don't give him bad feedback yet; don't think about that till the dust settles.
 
He confirmed that my knife has arrived on June 8 and has promised to send me the tracking number as soon as possible.No response to various messages from me, on the weekend he has responded and asked which knife ?
 
If he got your end on June 8th you should have gotten your tracking number on the 9th and your knife no later than the 11th or 13th depending on where it was shipped from.
I would name him and see what he has to say.
 
I wrote him another message via his Knifemakers home page today, he responded 2 hours ago and requested my shipping address again (Original answer: I tried emailing you. I need your address so I can resend out the ...) and that is absolutely not true !
If he sends me the agreed knife it is done for me otherwise I'll call his real name with address and username here.

There's not enough evidence to determine this is foul play yet but there is cause for concern considering its June 28 and the trade was made on June 8th. Unless the other party specified a reason for delayed delivery upfront this is unacceptable, at least to me. Especially considering the value of the trade. I would be interested in the username as well.

Edit to add: make sure you notify the other party of this thread to give him a chance to explain himself.

I am not sure why it has become so hard for so many people to communicate promptly and clearly these days. Whatever happened to being courteous and respectful to other people? How about treating other people like you yourself would want to be treated? I just don't get it; maybe I'm stupid.

I don't know what the other party is up to in this matter. We may never know whether he is a con artist, lazy, just falling on hard times for one reason or another, or some combination of the three. Hopefully he will make an appearance here in this thread even if he is not named. Anyone think I should hold my breath?

Seems to me that communication could be an issue given the fact that clear dialogue is not being used. How do you get more than 100% feedback? No need to assume the worst considering how little we know. Basic facts like who sent what where are important. We have no such facts.

I have a feeling this one will work out. Hopefully nothing is wrong with him or his fam. Hoping this works out for you OP.

No your not. Your Old school thinking is A+ , its hard for people today to understand your word is your bond, Bottom line its all you have. That said,I think itll work out in the end

I for one definitely had a bad deal with Eric.
This is exactly the type of behavior I encountered when I attempted to deal with him.
After repeated attempts to resolve my issue via PM and email I had to start posting on his sale tread to get him to refund my money. Which in the end he did.
I do believe the vast majority of users here on BF are honorable people.

It's now been 4 to 5 months after initially being told by him "my current turn around time is 6 to 8 weeks", I've received nothing back.
Pitiful email responses, each month after I send 2 or 3 emails to him, I receive an email back saying "it's almost done", or "I finished it, I will send it out" or the one I received a week ago saying "Everything is done and going out today after work. I'll send pics after work also.
I have received nothing.

I received one email showing me what scales he was staring to put on, he had them partially made, they were the completely wrong materiel that we initially agreed to and had to start again.

I will be going to my bank tomorrow to start the process of getting my $41.80 sent to him Feb. 12th for a sheath and my $75.00 sent to him March 6th for scales/liner returned in full back to me.
After speaking to both the fraud division of PayPal and my bank, I'm confident the money will be removed from his account and credited back to me.
This guy is not to be trusted, I will have nothing but negatives to say to anyone thinking of sending him anything, particularly money.
If he keeps my knife he's then just yet another common internet lowlife criminal, of which the internet is rampant with.

As mentioned, I keep immaculate USPS receipts/paperwork, filling a case with the fraud division of the USPS.

Lessons: If the guy has no telephone contact info/number.... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANYONE.
