A month or so ago there was a discussion on how to color your stock black Becker scales. We have been working on a set of handle scales for awhile and now seemed like the perfect time to make them available. Made in the USA, the kit fits all large KA-BAR Becker's and includes one set of hardware (three nuts, three screws). To buy visit http://www.kabar.com/accessories/58

Oh my!... That was fast. Are there more colors coming in the future?! Time to get the hen a full size BK!!!

I was JUST about to post this very thing! Haha I started a thread asking for this just a month ago!

But please... Olive drab and a good coyote or Marpat tan is a must! And even at $12, I would still like to buy individually... I just want a pink out of what you currently offer...

Easter color beckers are nice and all... but...

I agree. OD, Tan, Orange...all good options.

Orange and OD Green would be nice. Also please consider selling them separate so those of us who only want one handle set don't have 3 extras lying around.. I don't want hot pink scales on my Becker, and I'd appreciate the ability to not be forced to purchase them if I only want one or two colors.

+1 on the orange and being able to order just one set. I would be all over this for my 7.
That being said, I would put the red ones on my 7.

ecstatic about being able to buy additional scales!
but the color selection IS weird. These colors would be better as liners.
I think the following would sell better as full scales:

Black (yes, replacements!), Tan, OD Green, Pink, Red, Hunter orange.

Yep, buying single sets would be great. Say $10-$15ea.
Same for the tweeners.

Haha. I got my 2015 Ka-Bar catalog in on Saturday and saw these. As well as a couple other cool changes too.

I have to say I do like the Blue! But.............. There really needs to be a second set of 4 made as well I think.

This can be the bold electric set but we need a Neutral Outdoorsman set as well. That set should consist of Hunters Orange, OD or Foliage green, Tan, and a dark grey.

I do like the fact that Ka-Bar is offering these, Really awesome for sure, but I don't think they will sell as good as the set I just mentioned. We talked about this in another thread and most of those are the colors I think everyone agreed would be nice to have.

However, I have not used stock scales in a few years since I switched to micarta, but I am gonna put a set of the blue one's on one of my knives!

They would be better as liners! And I do agree that the selection is weird. Not picked by someone who gets out and uses knives for sure.

And I may just break up the sets and sell singles on my web site! That's a good Idea, Thanks Daizee, thanks! But man, I do not want to be stuck with all the pinks! haha

I think offering scales of different colors is great but the colors chosen make these knives look like toys instead of the hard use knives that they are. I'm sure they'll sell some but I think it's a 'swing and a miss'.

I like Dex's suggested Neutral Outdoorsman colors better.

I'll second everyone's ideas about tan/brown/OD and blaze orange, as well.

I was about to order a set of blue until I saw you had to order ALL FOUR. Since you are a dealer, do you think they would consider letting you buy the colors in different quantities??

Man Ka-bar doesn't work that way, I would have to buy the whole set. But I do think I could sell them pretty easy if I break the sets up. As soon as I get some it I will let you know and sell you a blue set by itself.

So I have been out in the shop working on some sheaths and thinking about why Kabar would release these colors? I have to agree with mbay about looking like toys. haha

I just don't get it. Have they not read all the requests over the last couple of years for color scales? Not once have I seen someone ask for any of those colors.......well I think someone did want pink..lol

So maybe they are saving the "Good Color's" that we all want and would rather have, to do in Micarta? Now that would be a game changer! I sure hope that is the case. Wouldn't be hard at all, just throw a different color sheet of micarta on the CNC.

Man, Still don't know why they picked these? haha Ka-Bar needs to consult the "Beckerhead's" before they make any more crazy decisions like this. lol :D

Dex, I want a pink one for my wife, so if you want to split them up, I can front you the cash, so that you dont have to worry about being stuck with at least one set of pinks.

I dont think that these sets will sell well... which is why I also have considered buying one, and holding on to it... for like 20 years... LOL

Hmmm...red with white liners on one side, blue with white liners on the other. Could work for a military service commemoration etched blade. :)
