Multiple EDCs

You need to carry two knives for two different needs - envelopes and zombies:D

i carry two slipjoints, i think because i'm a sentimental guy. both of my edc throughout the week are case knives that my father bought me, a CV med stockman and a stainless sowbelly. weird because their basically the same blade number and arrangement. I have to have a cv yeller handle on me at all times and the sowbelly is just awesome and both remind me of my dad and what a great guy he is. (and a closet knife nut i think)
so there i carry two knives cause i'm a sentimental bastid:D

I generally carry three knives...
General Use Folder (griptilian or delica 4): ~3 or so inch blade, clipped to right front pocket. This one gets most of the general use, as the name might suggest.
Small Slipjoint (case peanut): ~2 inch main blade, with ~1 inch secondary blade. This one goes in the mini pocket in the right front side of my jeans. Its used for smaller tasks that are better with small blades and any light tasks where I want to avoid scaring the sheeple.
Keychain knife (one of those mini Vic's): clipped with my keys. This is just a handy little thing to have around- little scissors, nail file, and a blade. gets used whenever the other two cant do the task- so basically anytime i need scissors or a nail file.

I been carrying 2 or more kniives for awhile, differant task call for differant knives. Today its my SOG Salute and a Super Tinkerer. Also carry a Case Little Finn at times

I carry one folder in my right front pocket. Sometimes I will carry a second slipjoint, but not very often. I dont find a need to carry more knives, jst in my experience. I always find my knife very useful and use it daily for whatever reason, but haven't needed a second blade for any reason. On weekends, I sometimes carry a fixed blade with my regular pocket knife. I do this just so I get a chance to get familar with my fixed blades and to get some use out of them. Just good fun really. YMMV

Rather than take a new picture, I'll just repost my latest EDC thread picture:

These two have been my EDCs since about a week ago. The Victorinox Solder has been a constant companion for close to seven years now. It's my food prep knife at work. It's blade never touches anything but food.

The Queen #31 is my hard use knife and it displaced a Spyderco Paramilitary from my pocket and it can handle just about anything that the Paramilitary could... now that it's sharp. D2 is great for hard use and I really love this knife.

i have a folder clipped to my FRP, a knife on my keys, a knife in my my pocket, a knife in the watch pocket on my jeans, and a knife on my belt. why? well i say why not. :D

i like knives and like having them around, so i carry several. i'll normally have one small EDC knife (currently my benchmade mini-grip) and a slipjoint, and a larger locking folder for occasional big jobs or for the comfort factor. my current slipjoint is a medium texas jack in key lime bone i just got this past wednesday, and a plain edge endura for the big knife. :) the slippie gets used often at work because it doesn't scare folks.

Love the blade on that Queen #31!

I'd never really thought about having a wharncliffe blade as my main EDC blade until I carried a Spyderco Centofante 4 for a few weeks when my Benchmade 710 had a broken spring. I really fell in love with that profile as a general use blade.

The blade on my Queen is a lot more sturdy and capable of heavy cutting than the Centofante 4, so I have no doubts about using this knife hard.

I also really like it's little pen blade. It's also an interesting knife to carry because you don't see too many two blade congress knives around these days... I think Queen is the only company currently making this pattern in two blades.

I already bookmarked an item page with that very one on it for my purchase Psychopomp.

Does a knife like this lock in any way or does the blade just go in & out by manually pushing on it. I've never owned one but I'm going to.

All of my knives are scary looking so I bought another BM940, a Nagara, and will add the Queen and a slender SAK (I have a gigantic one) for sheeple friendly knife usage.

No. It's a slipjoint and does not lock, just like an SAK. This one has very strong back springs, so there is some resistance to opening and closing. All folding knives can and will fold. If you use them with that in mind, you're no more likely to get hurt with a non-locking knife than with a locking knife.

I've used slipjoints as long as I've used knives (around 20 years now) and I've never had one close on me.

Get one, I think you'll like it. I saw it just browsing and didn't really intend to buy anything. Then I couldn't get it out of my mind, so I had to have it.

I usually carry 2 (often more) ,but my current EDCs are an old Sportsman 3 Gerber in a sheath on my left hip and as my 'beater' knife a CS Spartan in my right front pocket. I like heavier folders. :)

You need to carry two knives for two different needs - envelopes and zombies:D

That's funny, last night I dreamed that I fought a zombie using my Zero Tolerance 0301. Unfortunately, I didn't win (but to my credit, the zombie was armed with a fire axe).

Anyhow, back on topic, I rotate my large folders, 2nd piece is a small CRKT M16 or fully serrated Spyderco Dragonfly.

When I was akid, I hated to change my pants because it took so long to move the pocket stuff to the new pair. Things haven't changed much. I carry a CEM lobster for the cuticle nipper, a Victorinox money clip with real (cut) file, BM 943 Ti, and a Camillus MADD MAXX folder. Other knives are added as needed for special requirements. I carry the BM inside my shirt placket. If you you need more pocket room, lose the cope and the phone in that order. They make your tongue fall out and your ears ring.

I carry 3,,mostly cause like many others I just like knives, I carry a BM Harley in my front right hand pocket,,it gets most use for what little cutting I do, I carry a H&K auto in my righthand back pocket, for zombies, ninja,s and other creatures I may have to dispatch at anytime, lol,,I carry a small lockblade made in japan by somebody for somebody, lol,,I bought I jar full of the lil devils for almost nothing,,it is good for opening letters, cleaning my fingernails, etc,,it does sharped easily and seems to hold a good edge as well. I just in a Rat 1 folder today so it may see some edc as well,,,,just saying

To be completely honest, my SAK could manage the vast majority of my urban cutting tasks. And when I'm at my ranch or playing in the woods, a 4" fixed blade would suffice.

But I like knives and sometimes I can't decide which one to carry, so I end up grabbing a couple extra ones.

I used to carry two all the time. Now I carry one folder in my right front pocket. At work I carry a folder in my RFP and a Bark River Mikro Canadian.

Tony, I love that sig. :) I carry a small card tool in my wallet and a fixed blade and folder IWB, plus an Victorinox Huntsman and a tiny Japanese neck knife in a kydex sheath. I'm probably going to lose the fixed blade though.
