Does anyone else besides me have a sore arm? We did a lot of choppin' and I'm payin' the price today. Thanks guys.

No chopping soreness. I have been trail clearing all winter so my arms are in shape. On the other hand my hands were sore and my carpal tunnel was acting up from

Repeatedly cutting my fingers on knives
Smashing my fingers under logs and vices
Holding that handle and file working on that handle

The soles of my feet were also a little sore from the hike. Was kinda rocky.
Great fun ;)

But i don't usually chop and then do file work, cut masks fer etchin, swing a buncha blades, etc etc in the same day.

I wonder it it'd be possible to replace the disk sander with a buffing wheel somehow?

That sounds like a pretty good idea. Is the sander plate keyed? If so, you could fit a standard arbor right up to it. Just take all the other stuff off. Probably will have to use smaller wheels - or get an extended arbor shaft - but it should work.

It's been so long since I put mine together....can't remember.....Nasty - do you remember if it's keyed?

one funny note about the khonvention:

Whenever somebody would show up it'd go like this:

"Hi, I'm Johnny"

"Hi, Johnny. I'm Roadrunner." *handshake*
"Hi." (Johnny)

"Hi, Johnny. I'm BrianInChi." *handshake*
"Hi." (Johnny)

"Hi, Johnny. I'm Hollowdweller." *handshake*
"Hi." (Johnny)

......

"Hey, I know you!" (Johnny) "You're Pen!"

Gave me a chuckle.....all 11 times I heard it...:D

Much to be said for putting names to faces....

Yup...it sure is keyed...gotta look and see what kind of clearance I have when I get home. It'd be nice to not have to swap out wheels on my buffer, save that just for woodchucking.

Ferrous, here's one of Nasty and his Tarwar, I thought it came out well. I've got one of you but it came out really blurry, you can't tell what you're cutting.

Heehee. The only people I knew I'd recognise was Pen (and RoadRunner, from his past pix with the Girl-repellent safety glasses--AK review i think it was?).

Oh, and Trevor.:D

I talked to Trevor, and he was actually kinda interested in getting online and playing here in the Cantina. For those of us in the Cantina, we can chat fer weeks on end about it, but he only has silly old me to talk to about it...so we may yet see Trevor come online here! He's no Luddite, he just isn't that comfortable with PCs...yet. I'll get him up to speed, perhaps have him come over here and type a few messages using my acct. first.

hey Dan, we talked bout this 3-4 weeks ago on the phone...
check out LeeValley, they've got all pieces/parts, but may require
some bolting to the guide table.

Sorry Warren...all you sent me was a vid of one of the garage sale people chopping with an ugly little knife sorta thing that he was offering $4 for.

(actually, the vid bombed my public mailbox so I didn't get it)

Aw Semper...everyone else was smiling! ;-) I wasn't close Bro...but had something happened, we'd have applied compression!

Nice shot Bri!

Ah hem....can't take credit where credit ain't due. Can't claim the knives or two of the pop guns. Not sure who the knives belong to. Maybe RR?

Yes...knives belong to RoadRunner. No idea who the popguns belong to and I'm sticking with that story!

don't shoot the messenger, y'all...:D :p

I'm with you Semp! When I saw that pic, I thought, "Crap, hope Semp doesn't see this one....yikes!"

That Pen Knife you came away with was sharp ;) but I think Nasty would certainly have had the upper hand....(pun intended) *groan*
