...Well after hearing all the great comments on the 298GY from goose and others I opened a package today to find my own copy...It is great!...The fit and finish can't be any better. It's as solid as a "fixed blade"... ( I think...:p )...when open and deployment itself is sure and easy. No wobble or mis-matches anywhere and it came out of the box with a sharpness that must have been accomplished with sorcery. The first chore for this beauty was a 3 pound stick of Wisconsin smoked salami. It went through it like it was a figment of my imagination...I gotta thank goose for pointing me to Ira Wood...I ordered it on Wednesday and I'm using it today...Doesn't get much better...Thanks gooser...

Glad to help my Buck Brother. :)

I LOVE the 298GY. One of my all time favorites and I owe that to Pack Rat (wherever he is) for getting me hooked.

How is that safety latch D? You were concerned about it. I find that it does not get in the way but your mileage may vary.

Report more later on how ya like it. Hoping it's all good.

...Well I tell ya gooser...so far this looks like a "folder" I shoulda bought a long time ago. It's as solid as the best 110's or 112's I have around here...It's much lighter though but the solidity and obvious strength are amazing. It's gonna be my EDC for quite a while I'm thinking...It sure does love that salami too...Fantastic...LOL...Thanks again goose...

What about the safety gizmo? Ya gonna remove it?

...Actually gooser...you were right about it not even being noticed...I took a ham bone from last week outa the freezer and cut all the meat off the thing and got a big pot of "PEE SOUP" goin' on the stove...It cut up all the veggies and the meat and I never noticed it was there...Maybe sumthin' I can live with...I'm already thinkin' of maybe adding some scales... ( you know me and the wood n metal thing...LOL ):p ...maybe then I might think about taking it off if I gotta do any disassembly to afix the scales...We'll see though...Still a slick user...
