My Custom Puukko!

That looks like a stylish and by the looks also a practical puukko, price was not too bad either.

You lucky dog! Puuko's are on of my favorite knives.

Now you need to get out and use it and that fire kit.

Now that is a good looking puukko! Congrats! And a nice little fire kit, too. :D

Yeah. That's an article from Finland's largest newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. It's about viral diseases in animals, and that big title in bold font there says: "To viruses, you are just another animal."

Well, I had figured it referred to viruses. But that just confused me!!:D

Looks like an excellent puukko!

with a perfect example of how well polished it is.

This picture was taken for 2 reason. 1. to show the amazing wood to metal fit. and 2. to TRY and show the peculiar shape of the blade. I don't know if you can tell, but the blade is shaped like a horizontally squished Superman emblem. Very interesting.

That kind of blade profile is usually found in Tommi-puukkos, but it is pretty common in other hand forged traditional puukkos too. Makes an excellent blade for whittling wood.

^ i think that is because it reduces the surface area the could touch whatever is being cut, so, therefor, it reduces the friction.

Very fine knife and a lot of very decent pix too!

Sounds like a very reasonable price when you think of all the TIME and SKILL needed to make a knife like that. This is especially the case when the quality is up to par,the quality of that sheath could give some makers a masterclass....

looks like a terrific blade! i would be tickled pink to own something like that.

congrats on the purchase, very nice.

also, neat looking firekit. i've never seen a sulfur cup or a birch roll like that-neat ideas!

Darbyfett,
That is one seriously AWESOME knife man...I am really hoping to get one like it some day...thanks for the great pics, and I hope that it isnt a safe queen..you know how I feel about those!

That's a beautiful knife. The craftsmanship that went into that blade is a cut above. The fire kit is also very neat. Some interesting traditional (I'm assuming) items.

That is a gorgeous knife and a very nice write up. I can see one of those in my future.

Here is a picture of the bag and bone sulfur cup. The bag is a unknown to me type of leather, very durable and well made.

Just a guess, but my money would be on reindeer.
