My Custom Puukko!

That Puuko is a work of art! Thanks for the nice photos. I'm sure that is a knife you will treasure for years.

Good score, ...some sweet sh*t.

The inclusive angle should be around 17 - 18 degrees. The Finnish Puukko grind optimized for bushcraft is tighter than what is common in swedish and norwegian knives similar to Puukkos. Pekka is certainly on top of his game. He's workin for his mastersmith degree right now.

Old Bump I know.

Sorry I have been gone for the last 2 days.

Yeah. That's an article from Finland's largest newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. It's about viral diseases in animals, and that big title in bold font there says: "To viruses, you are just another animal."

Thanks, I was really curious, because what ever she is holding looks like a human baby but with weird skin and a tail....so needless to say I was intrigued.

That is beautiful! I had a lot of fun watching you unwrap it.

I took the pictures as I unwrapped it, therefore slowing me down and making it even more tantalizing.

That kind of blade profile is usually found in Tommi-puukkos, but it is pretty common in other hand forged traditional puukkos too. Makes an excellent blade for whittling wood.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.

Darbyfett,
That is one seriously AWESOME knife man...I am really hoping to get one like it some day...thanks for the great pics, and I hope that it isnt a safe queen..you know how I feel about those!
No way in hell I am letting this knife be a safe queen. I am finally going out to the woods next week and I am going to put it through the ringer.

Darby,

Can I get a shot of the blade in your hand? I can get the scale of the knife.

I'll take some pictures tonight if you are still interested.

Just a guess, but my money would be on reindeer.

That is what I was thinking. But I was unsure because the sheath is made out of cowhide.

I spent a good deal of time with Pekka yesterday at the big gun show in Tampere, and he had some very nice puukkos there. You are right to say what a pleasure it is to work with him on a project, and he is certainly a true craftsman.
