Do I have your permission to repost your post over on survivalistboards.com?
The guys over there would probably want to say a few kind words about your dad.....

I've perused that site but I'm not a member. And I didn't realize Dad was. Thank you! For a guy that could barely figure out how to turn the computer on Dad sure got around!:D I'll be sure to let the members there know of his passing.

And in case this seems neurotic...well, it probably is.:o But I loved my dad and he loved his online buddies. And as a hardcore forum junkie & IT-guy-in-training it really gnaws at me when a forum buddy goes MIA and you never know why.

Jim was definately one of the great ones. I will miss him around here.

You and your family have my deepest sympathy.

Wow I'm shocked, I guess you kinda expect your forum buddies to always be around everytime you log onto the computer.
There are a lot of good guys on this forum but as many have said your dad was one of the very best and will be missed by more people than he could ever have imagined !

RIP Jim and condolences to you and your family Rob.:(

Heartfelt condolences

Had some good pm conversations with Jim about fishing, the outdoors and he did know a hellova lot

he will be missed

Rob, thanks for taking the time and sharing your loss with us. I've known your father for the past several years on this and a couple other forums. My wife jokes about my "internet" friends, but your father was also a fellow brother-in-arms despite our age difference. I have great amount of respect for his service and also sharing his tremendous knowledge with all of us. His loss is also a big loss to our virtual community and he will be missed. Prayers and smoke sent...but be assured; he lived a full life that has impacted more than he could have known. I hope you and your family gets through this tough time, but as your poem so eloquently put...he's not only off on another journey, but his memories will forever be with those who have known him and instead of mourning his loss, you should celebrate the life that Jim Babcock lived.

Thanks again Rob for sharing...we too appreciate knowing of your loss and giving closure to the passing of a good friend and member of our little community,

v/r
