Hi, Folks,

I'm putting together a series of articles about emergency wilderness survival, on my website. I've just put together an article which shows my kit, as a PSK example.

I'm giving a link, instead of showing it here, because the picture is large, the text is lengthy, and the article is an integrated part of a series. Here's the link:

I hope you enjoy it, or find it useful. Any thoughtful feedback, positive or negative, will be appreciated.

[Please note that this PSK article is somewhat of an unfinished rough draft, as is each article in the unfinished series (and the entire website, for that matter)].

Mike as I mentioned over at the Swamp...you have done a great survice to those who prepare. Great work and thanks.

Excellent list and pics. I really like how you labled it and explained all the contents, nice work!

Thanks, Q.

This reminds me, you wanted my PSK article for your website, correct? Give me a call. 831 325 6917.

Where do you find the traser capsules? I keep getting watches in my searches!
Great kit, and thank you for displaying it. :)

cjpgeyer,

I bought them from a member of BFC, named Piet Henskens. He goes by the online name Bagheera. He used to sell these to raise money for his local scout troop. I'm not sure if he still does.

These are more easily available in Europe than in the U.S. If you have any European friends or relatives, have them get some for you and ship them to you.

Evolute, you've done a first rate job on your site and your kit. Top notch all the way.

Found some, and for a decent price with free shipping.

Glowring

While searching though, I came across a number of conflicting articles concerning the legality of these in the US. One site states they're not allowed here because it's a "frivolous" use of nuclear technology which is banned in the US. What a load of bull if that's true...

Amazing Kit BTW

Evolute, that is first class material.

Great way to photo and number everything in the kit, with explanation.

top notch!

Nice.

I couldn't agree more with all the fire starting effects. The more fire making stuff you can carry the better.

Thx for the link!

Fabulous job. Thanks for going to all the effort to document and explain your choices. Your writing style is clear and concise.

Great kit and reasoning for each peice of gear. I like the way you modify gear to suit your taste and needs, and even make your own from scratch.

I would Like to see come directions or links to them on how to make the gear you made, also mabey a cheaper kit for those who may not be professionals like you.

I also went to the other parts of this site as was equally impressed by the nature of all the articles including the helpful links you provide.

That's an outstanding description of your PSK, including the what, why, where, and how of its components. The photos and the source links were extremely valuable, too. Thank you for that contribution to our safety!

Mike, Thanks for the knowlege. I love all the links. Saves endless surfing time. Can you provide instructions on making the bivy and water bag? I would love to try to make my own.

Thanks
Tom
