My First Custom Order..

I've been thinking about it for a while but just never did it..
Couldn't stand it anymore, so I did it.
There are so many choices, and seems like most are going with the Ram or Elk and S30V steel.

I decided to go the other end of the spectrum, Basic.
110 FG, NS, Polished 420 blade, Heritage Walnut scales with rivets and tan sheath.... :D

I have some knives in D2(Dozier) and a couple in ATS-34 which I like,
but I really like the looks of the polished blade, and with the Bos heat treat I think the 420HC will work just fine.....

I am really looking forward to getting the knife... Only problem is, now I'm already to order another one :eek:

Heh...congrats on your first order! I can promise that it won't be your last. ;)
That combination is going to look great. As usual, the Customs look far better in person than on the website. Don't forget, we just love pics. :D

Thanks.. I am real excited about getting it. Good chance I may go ahead and order another one before the first one even gets here :D
Not real good at takin pics, but will work on it to hopefully get a few decent ones.... I wasn't thinkin when I started this thread, could have just added to the one thats already going on.. I don't think straight when I'm excited.
Good thing that doesn't happen to often..

allenC, thanks for that picture, the one I just ordered is the Heritage Walnut also, now I know it's gonna look great!!!
 
I never get tired of looking at that NS Walnut 110, Allen! Walnut is definitely on my list. :thumbup:

I'm even considering another walnut 110....but maybe with polished 420HC this time, and no finger-grooves....or S30V.

The Walnut looks even better than I thought it was going to.

Now I'm even more excited for it to get here...
 
Just wondering; Shouldn't the tang stamp read BUCK CUSTOM ? (If it came from the CKS )

Not always,the first customs i ordered had regular blade markings on them,and then some came with fancy scroll Buck custom on them,with designers choice stamped on the oppisite side.
 
Designer's choice sounds like something you'd see in a fancy dress shop.

being a simple man of few words,
i find i must write in for suporte of bbb4u's findings.
that it makes logical sense that:
if it is from custom shop
it should have custom shop on it.
after all i have not heard they broke the die stamp..
 
I don't know when they started stamping them "Custom". I know I have an old elk stag with a four dot blade from the CS tho :p
 
Well, I have a Damasque and a 154CM ordered and I sure want Custom on them.

That prissy "Designer's Choice" though.....I don't think that's real desirable.....unless I start wearing lace on my panties.

How 'bout something like a nice anvil instead?

It's from the Custom Shoppe alright....came with the card and everything.
Made to my specifications:
Finger-grooves, walnut scales, pins, nickle-silver bolsters, ATS-34 blade-steel.

Why is there no "Custom" or "Designer's Choice"?

I don't know.

And I don't care so long as it has "ATS-34" on the blade.

Besides, the Bos logo looks way better than "Designer's Choice" (which always reminds me of the coffee "Taster's Choice").
 
None of my Customs came with an authenticity card. Is that a new development?
