I entered a give away by Ghostwalker last month some time for a small Regular. I just entered it for fun. I mean, who wins a give away on here? Always someone else. Exactly one week ago, I received a visitors message by Ghostwalker saying that I won the give away. I was shocked. Then I was beyond shocked. I was ecstatic. I did the fastest research in my life to make sure everything was in order and I wasn't messaged purely by mistake, and thankfully, everything lined up. We made contact and chatted a bit, and the very next day the blade was inbound. I told my family what happened and they were extremely excited for me. They all know my love for knives and support me as best as we can with it. They find knives an excellent thing to collect as they are both practical and valuable, if we had to sell some off.
Anyhow, back to the knife. I have always admired the plain Sebenzas. For the most part, I find beauty in knives in the simple elegance. A simple knife with a clean shape is perfect for me. The Sebanza fit the bill, but there was no way I could buy one. I tend to buy economy grade knives like Buck and Becker. Simple, inexpensive knives that are well made and get the job done.
So, here we are. It was Tuesday when I got the email with the tracking info. The blade was shipped to arrive on Friday. I tell you, those were the longest three days of my life. But on Wednesday, we got hit by a second terrible windstorm up here in Washington state. There have been several up here in a short span. The first one left us without power for days. We were blessed enough to miss the second one by mere miles. I still thank God that we live up here on the mountain. The trees provide a bit of a break from the wind. We had several trees snap like matchsticks or simply get uprooted, to show how bad it was. In the city itself, the wind was far worse. So bad, in fact, that it tore the roof off of the local USPS facility. Mail has been delayed for days. The delay is so bad, the post is now running on Sundays as well for the rest of the year. It didn't come Friday. Or Saturday. There were no updates from the original destination for days. I came to accept that I might not see this blade this year, if ever. So, I was doing some writing the other night, and my phone went off. It was an update from USPS. My tracking information was finally coming through. But we hit a block again. I got no information the following day at all. This morning, I got the text of my life. "Your package has been delivered". It is about a half mile hike to the mailbox, but I jogged it in no time at all. There was no way I would let that sit in there any longer than needed.

So, here it is! I promised a family member I would wait until they were here before opening it, and I tell you the wait will kill me. Updates to come!
