My wife Harriet is dying of metastatic breast cancer. Yesterday I moved her to a residential hospice near home. She wants the fuss and the discomfort to end, and so do I, yet I don't want to lose her. Prayers and smoke appreciated.

I'm not going to clutter up the forum, but anyone who's interested is welcome to read my online journal at http://www.livejournal.com/users/russkay/

Writing this has been very helpful to me. The Cantina has become an important part of my family. Thanks to you all.

I'm not very good with words, but I am so sorry to hear this, and can't imagine going through what you and your wife are going through right now.

My mother had breast cancer, but is a survivor for now. It is incredible the number of women that are eventually afflicted with this disease. Ours is a fallen world. Each Sunday our church bulletin lists those who are seeking medical treatment, sick or dying. The list is long. One day a better world awaits us. Until then, prayers offered.

Oh God help my brother Russ and his wife. Russ, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer about 2 years ago. She is currently clear, but every followup is full of fear. You and your wife will be in our prayers.

My wife and I are both 'survivors", but my mother-in-law is slowly succumbing to cancer of the liver. One can only wonder why one 'makes it' while the next one slips away. Perhaps one day it will all be made clear...this from a guy who teaches molecular biology. Prayers offered from Indiana

Said prayer for you both before Emailing, will pray another tonight.God Bless.

:( Words fail me. I'm so sorry Russ, yet glad to hear that posting here has helped in some small way. It's a good place to call home.

Will send smoke and hope for the best. Hopefully that hospice will ease some of the pain.

My absolute most heartfelt prayers go out to you, Russ. Cancer is nature's evil. I pray for your clarity of mind and spirit, and for your wife's swift and painless journey. We are here for you.

God bless
Jake

Russ, I am so sorry. I read your live journal... it's a good idea keeping that.

I spent my mother's last weeks with her at a Hospice. Kept a diary like that on my palm pilot. I still have those words, and I'm glad I do.

So we have a few things in common. We care, please keep in touch... let us help, in any way we can.

I will remember Harriet tonight at sunset, and both of you in the days to come.
