(editied pics are now at the bottom of the page) A while ago I designed enough..fueled by my obsession with primitve skills... it was designed base on looking at the stone coloidal tools of early aboriginal peoples...I talked a bit with Bryan Breeden about it.. we traded photos of a few design features back and forth and I watched as my concept became a reality.
Any way just in time for my Birthday (todayYAY) I came home from work last night,,and there eas a package waiting for me..sure enough it was the blade...I handled it briefly before bed. (the knife that is) and at first the unique design seemed a little awkward. But today I bought some sticks with me to work and started going to town experimenting with the multitude of grips the design provides, and with various tasks..and it actually seems to be really convenient and versatile..
Any way I've taken a bunch of pictures today, but I won;t be able to upload them untill tonight.. so as anxious as you are to see them, and as anxious as I am to share them.. we both must wait... (sigh) but It's a great tool (though unorthadox), and a wonderfull marriage of primitive technology and modern materials... I hope when you see it you like it as much as I do. When you get to see it that is..LOL

sorry to tease... I'm stuck at work.. Pics to come tonight...What I will say about the design is that it gives you a full 3 inch cutting edge in a flat easily pocketable design.

That's really my favorite size and method of carry. I've got a Razel that fits that bill pretty much that I love. I have found 3 inches to be the length of blade that best works for me as an EDC.

Happy birthday bro ... I owe you a b-day drink or 2 :D

I don't like anybody to get upset at Riley on his Birtday... So here are his pics.

Thanks..Tony you are my hero... I'm mailing you some of my wifes toenail clippings for your "virtual girlfriend" Seriously bro..Much obliged..
SO to the knife.
3 inch cutting edge 4&1/4 OAL
about 1 inch wide
the hole is there to provide traction for using the pinch grips
THe bottom pic shows the standard "skinner grip which is usefull for utility cutting or carving large chunks at obtuse angles like when making a point on a stick or for making deep cuts like an ulu (as shown in the 4th and 5th pic down)
a modified skinner grinp can be used to drill as shown in the "fire board pic"
THe second pic down shows a reverse grip which provides a ridiculous amount of control for ultra fine work like making fuzz sticks or fine carving
Not shown is a standard carving grip (I'll post that later) which allows allows for a 2 finger grip, with a thum braced n the spine..this alows the knife to be used for regular knife and carving tasks while stil providing a secure controllable grip

the difference between men and boys are the price of their toys

Happy birthday!!

Seriously looks interesting

THanks for the kind words... The grips take a little getting used to but the more I play with it the more I like it...Time will be the utlimate factor in determining the overall effectiveness of the deisgn, but I'm giving it a shot as my edc.

That looks like a pretty useful and small tool once you get the hang of it.

What's the sheath like?
