My knife is gone?!?!

I lost an Emerson CQC 8 years ago. I searched inside the house and in the yard. Several months went by, and coming into the living room, heard something fall. I looked down and there was the knife on the floor. It had fallen out of the recliner. I all but tore that chair apart looking fo it. You just never know where you might find something.

Well, OP, glad to see you have your knife back. And also, you seem to be a man of character. You have acted laudably throughout the whole ordeal. Good job!

My take on it is that this girl might have some issues.

He was keeping me posted entire time, I even seen her instagram story before she took it down.

This girl is trying very hard to act and look older than she is, while at the same time doing very immature things like stealing and then sticking tongue to a knife with face expression that's just... no comment.
Her other instagram posts are quite similar, and she seems to be one of "popular kids".

I also noticed she liked every single thing he ever posted on Instagram.

I don't like this situation at all. I think he should let her parents know if she persists trying to contact him, as he did show me screenshots of their "convo" where she will send him something again every now and then despite the fact he's not replying.

Smiling should just get his knife back then cut off all contact lol.

The girl's issues are she's a teenager in the weirdest year in human history. I wouldn't worry too much about her. Kids do dumb things and social media is not helping, but, as George Harrison said, All things must pass. Forgive her, move on.

I just got a call from her dad.
She has told about it to her parents as I told her she should. I told her they'd find out sooner or later (my sister knows and she is usually spreading everything quickly).

Her father was very humble, he apologized in her name and even offered to buy me something as apology.
I told him it's all good.

Also, she has shown them the messages where I asked her where did she get the knife and where she apologized.

She never admitted stealing the knife tho, she has told them she found it somewhere, so her father was very curious to know if she stole it or really found it somewhere while she was in a walk and decided to keep it...

And I kinda feel guilty I told him that I don't know for sure. Last time I recall seeing the knife was several days ago and it took me a while to notice it's missing, so theoretically anything is possible. But she has offered to return the knife and even wants to make stuff right so that is a good thing. She also told about it to them on her own so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

He said he'll let her apologize in person like she wanted. So I guess that's it...

You're a good egg. Merry Christmas.

Why does she have your cell number anyway?
I was texting her through instagram exclusivley.

As for the cell number, she asked me to give it to her in case she gets lost while bringing me the knife back or so she can let me know when she's close.

As far as the meeting, she came with her mother at the end (her mom decided not to let her go alone).
And my coworker was present too (I asked her to stay with me anyways).

They brought me some chocolate, cookies and other stuff. Her mom invited me to come and have a dinner with them as her husband (girl's dad) wants to apologize in her name in person.

I thanked them for the offer and declined. I told them there's no need for him to apologize in her name as she already apoliogized herself.

Honestly last thing I want to do is even go to their house too...

My thoughts exactly.
My dog prefers to be outside actually. Except for the summer when we have to make a small pool of cold water for him. Double fur or coat or whatever it's called is doing it's thing.
Summers are excruciating tho...

You have handled this very well.
Much better than many adults I know.

If her parents are friends of the family you may come in contact with this gal again. What are your plans for that?
Thank you very much.

They do come here but not too often, and usually without their kids.
And considering I'm working and stuying at the same time, and also spending time with my dog or working out - I'm not at home or in the house most of the time.

But they did kinda get rid of her on some occassions like "She could go with you, she seems bored here" when I would be about to go walk my dog.
They know that her and my sister can't stand each other, so I was the victim.

But I don't think they'll do that again after this...
Or they could do it on purpose because of this?

I'll just hope they won't take her back to place where she stole something.
As far as me visiting them - I was never at their place, and I probably never will.

Congrats on getting your knife back, and as many have said....kudos for taking the high-road throughout the ordeal.

On a side note, I still believe this girl is somewhat infatuated with you....so watch your back. I mean, at least for the next two years, lol.

Now, to finally put this matter to bed....how about a few pics of the knife?? Can’t really let this thread die without at least one picture of the knife that compelled a young woman to steal, lie and post “suggestive” photographs on the internet.

Let’s see what all the fuss was about....

Agreed.

Just now I remembered I forgot to sanitize it... that will wait for tommorrow tho. I'm off to bed now.

Also, you can see darker spot of corrosion or patina on it. I bet that it's the place where the lick was.

Another thing I noticed is that it has some kind of smell ever since I got it back, but enough about that for now...
