My last spyderco

To all that responded,

Since I started the thread (6+ months) I realized that I CANNOT live without spyderco knives. So I will eat my hat or shoes or whatever I deserve!

I have purchased about ten spyderco zytel knives since the original post. They are my favorite blades that I can afford to lose and replace.

I admit i behaved like an ass, but my heart was in the right place. Knives are very important to me and I hate to see the anti-knife sentiment gain popularity...

My appologies again

Bill

Copis!

Just how illegal would it be for you to contact Scorpio - BF member and the Israeli importer of Spyderco - and get one from him??? Nudge nudge wink wink...

I belive the constitution reads that the people have the right to bear "arms", so if used in self defense, a knife is definitely an "arm".

I'm a spyderco fan and will continue to purchase spydercos, but it does upset me somewhat that the double standard of disarming the populace and overarming the "authorites" continues with this LEO sales only policy. The fact is that LEOs have no more "need" for a combat knife than a civilian, if one has to stick their nose into what other people "need". If I, as a civilian, am not committing an actual crime with my knife, NO ONE has a legitimate right to tell me a DAMN thing about which knife I carry. /rant

I sleep peaceably in my bed at night because a large dog stands ready to do violence on my behalf. In return for this peace of mind, I have to feed him, walk him, and scratch his belly from time to time.

Copis, I admire you for what you said in your recent post. Welcome back.

At first, I was somewhat bothered by your original post but after reviewing the comments of others both against (majority) and for (minority) your belief I think that you did some good for this issue and for this forum. First, I think that as a result of your concern there has been an "easing" of the sale of Matriarchs to non-LEOs. Second, your original post did not turn into an all out flame war--this solidifies the premise that these forums are a place where divergent opinions on issues can be openly and maturely discussed and where win-win solutions can be developed.

I will look forward to your future posts.

Hi Copis. Thanx for your understanding and patience. I personally appreciate your post.

Hi Knutbar. Welcome to the Spyderco forum. We're all good guys, right. So knives "should" be no prob. Unfortunately, reality does on occassion rear it's ugly head and laws are to be at least considered in one's everyday life.
