I like everything about your concept. Only thing I would done different is adding a choil on the blunted edge, but that’s just because I can be pretty clumsy.Then, I got to the pic of your polishing....

So you polished using a hand held random orbital sander? Sorry about the questions but I have the same blade , stripped and ready to polish. I’m just having trouble starting

Why did you put tape on the handle? To make it thicker, less slippery (which i'd find odd because that rubber is pretty tacky) or because the res C was making hot spots on your palms?
Really nice work - I've kind of not been on board with moving the grind so far forward but if you think about it, what can you really use that area for? ...
I wrapped the handle on this one because I have large hands and with so much weight in the blade, the handle just felt too small. With a lighter blade it's not really an issue, I have a 1311 that I don't wrap and it feels fine
