My new EDC

Thanks for the tips. Been there before and the food is great and the women beautiful. No doubt. ;)

rmc85 wrote... I've got a Kulgera, and wish I'd bought s Rift instead. The Kulgera is a piece of art, but too fragile for any serious use, more in the mould of a 'gentleman's folder'. The grip is also disappointing. My current favourite is the H&K BMHK14205 - makes the Kulgera feel like a toy...

Interesting. I use all my knives a lot so I cant have something that wont hold up.

Oppps, shoulda asked if you had been there! Nothing worst than having someone tell you all about something you already know! :thumbdn: My bad!

Have a great trip!

No apologies necessary. I will take all the tips I can get before going anywhere. Been to Peru probably close to a hundred times but I still learn something new from folks who have only ben there a few times. I appreciate all the info. Seriously.

I understand all that but the SF knife obviously has nothing to do with the RAT line even though I posted in our forum. I don't ever see RAT doing anything that would cost that much. My point being is there are folks who buy 400 dollar knives, and I suppose they use them in the field? If so, what makes the SF any different than any other 400 dollar knife? Nothing.

As someone who owns this $400 knife I'd love to get your opinion on it:)

I have one and used it for over a year now, and it's my favorite folder.
The only problem I had with it was, some how I got it snaged on a open car door.
The force of me moveing past the door, pulled the knife out of my pocket and opening the blade in mid air. The open knife landed 2" form a customers bare feet.
The pocket clip was bent out, but I put it in a vice to fix it.
All in all a great knife.

I'd be interested in that. I've been looking at the Rift and Kulgera and cant figure out which one I think I would like more.

I had a Kulgera for a while but traded it off, its nice but super slick:thumbdn:. The smooth G10 doesn't provide any traction IMO. If you are going to spend the money on a Benchmade I would suggest the 940:thumbup:.

That knife looks awesome, I like the glass breaker on the end and the belt cutter.....I had a Buck Rush with the skeletonized handles like that and it wasn't too comfortable in the hand.....small quirk but it kept me from wanting any other skeletonized handle knives!
