My new original knife design

This is a prototype of my new knife. The design just came to me. I call it The Charlie1.Hope you like it

Thumb ramps are one of those things designers seem to love but users rarely want.

I'd say that's not 100% true.....

I would say users really want them to work. The idea for a thumb ramp is to help control the had from slipping forward from the handle. This is especially true on edged weapons meant to be thrust/stabbed into a target. I also believe they are sort of a replacement for dedicated hand guards like that of the KABAR USMC.

The big blade I'm testing right now has thumb jimping but for the most part, is ineffective. if it had more "bite" then it would be way better and so...to me, it's probably better without it.

But I prefer thumb ramps and jimping....I just want it to work though.
 
I finished the knife thumb ramp and all. I have to say I think I like the thumb ramp however I only put 3 'gymps' in the ramp and they are not sharp but sort of rounded.
