My New Strider SMF.

Nice, I need to play with mine tomorrow. Today was a card board day.
BTW now that you mentioned it a few posts back. Last year I locked my keys in my ( now sold) subaru accidentally while paying attention to my daughter and the groceries. Somehow bumped the door shut with the keys on the seat. I used my SMF to pry the door open an inch and use a stick to jab the lock so I could get in my house lol. Good stuff. Done in a moment.

That is AWESOME!!!!! This is what Im talking about!!! Exactly what this blade was meant for. Its that EDC blade that will do it all everyday tasks, but really shine when you need it in a serious/emergency/life threatening situation. I bet that thing pried the door open and then gently folded back up, and went in the pocket to wait for its next on duty call.

Thats great stuff there buddy.

These are the kind of threads I hate.

Now I want to go get another SnG, it's been a while, and this reminds me that I miss it.

I Hate all of you! (Especially Mark)

Glad to see you pushing the SMF to work, that is what it was designed to do.

Look forward to more updates.

Hahahaha. Sorry Alex!!! I feel your pain, I already want to purchase an SNG! I keep thinking of ways and things I can sell to afford one. hahaha. Its like a crack addiction. I have been compulsively checking the exchange for striders. hahahaha.

I need to put it to some more use tomorrow. I think I will try to go over my hill and get some small game. Maybe get the chance to process them with the SMF. Or maybe build a small fire while I am out.

Keep em up mark. I need to get outside tomorrow with my older daughter, she wants to play outside. Im thinking fire too. Keep them coming. I will try for some action shots too. Its been a long while since I had some fun doing that.

They are kinda addictive. I am not saying that a Strider can do anything, but it certainly feels like it can when you pull it out of your pocket.....

Has there been anything negative?
I know that I had a few issues with binding on long cuts because of the choil on the blade. (Mainly cardboard)

I am going to try to find an SnG in 3V or PD1.

I also really enjoy documenting my findings and experiences. I love to do that also on another forum. It's a Toyota truck forum. Sometimes I get lengthy in my posts when it comes to project cars/trucks.

If it's not too windy tomorrow, I am also going to try and make a small fire.

It definitely does feel like it could do anything due to the sheer size and how stout it is. But I also agree, it can't do everything. I have not spent enough time with it to find any real negatives. For me at least.

I have been eyeing them in PD1 as well. I have never owned that steel either. 3V would be amazing also.

The PD#1 seems really awesome on this. From all I have read and my use yesterday. I will let you know how it sharpens up and takes harder cutting materials and tasks.
There is a PD1 cc for sale right now in the forum.

It's a really nice looking one also!!!!

I did not do any fire making or wood processing. I went squirrel hunting instead.

Great pics up in here.

I miss my old SnG, just on the hunt for the right configuration. I really want an SnG CC, full stonewash, in some steel like S110V, PD-1, or CPM-154.

Next challenge for Mark....

Shoot the SMF with that rifle!

Report your findings, and make sure to include pics!
Lets see how tuff this thing really is....

Back to the real world. How is the edge holding up? All my SnG's where S30V sadly, curious about Strider HT on 154 and how good it all is? I might just go this route, as I like 154 when done right.

I can play to Mark and mail me some squirrel soup! Im trying to wear out the factory edge. Still slices through paper easy. Had to clean up the Lilac tree with my crap machete. Dont laugh at it. So I played a little. Cutting some fallen greens and that old branch which I think was off the Oak tree. JR88FAN. I had both the S30V then the CPM 154 back to back. I did like the bit of edge toughness the 154 seemed to have over the S30V which showed slight deformation here and there. It also would strop up very nice. It was easily the best CPM 154 heat treat I have ever used. I look forward to sharpening the PD #1 and seeing what I find after some more use. Can you spy the SNG on my old Baby Blue. That old 5 speed will climb a tree. It is hard to shoot a picture with my left hand.

Very nice pics you took there! I really love the look of your SNG!! Love Black and OD green together! I agree with the CPM154 so far. Its definitely sharper than any of my other S30v blades and I have yet to touch it with 2 1/2 straight days of using nothing but it for everything I need cut. Whether its for food or work.

Is that a 2 door Cherokee? I only ask, because you said its a 5-speed and a rare option that was usually only in the 2 door. I love those older cherokee's The 4.0L is a very tough engine that, with proper care and maintenance, will out last the body of the jeep.

I wish I was making some squirrel soup! I shot at two with the Umarex Ocatane that were over 100 yds away. Too much brush in between. They probably thought I was just messing with them, since the pellets were just grazing them. Get their heart rate up a little. Hahaha

I guess it is rare because it is a four door actually perfect for the kids. In line 6 5 SPD. They are the best and I got this thing for 900$ a few months ago. I put 10k on it so far and it is at 204k now. It runs like new. It was owned by 1 woman exactly as you see it from new in 2001. All original parts. Every darn one. It was a heck of deal so we could sell my wifes mazda 6 and get her a nice used, or course. A4 1.8T Sline Quattro. Fun little car and easy to work on in this configuration. I miss my pellet gun! I left it at a job and someone stole it two years ago.
