My New Strider SMF.

I guess it is rare because it is a four door actually perfect for the kids. In line 6 5 SPD. They are the best and I got this thing for 900$ a few months ago. I put 10k on it so far and it is at 204k now. It runs like new. It was owned by 1 woman exactly as you see it from new in 2001. All original parts. Every darn one. It was a heck of deal so we could sell my wifes mazda 6 and get her a nice used, or course. A4 1.8T Sline Quattro. Fun little car and easy to work on in this configuration. I miss my pellet gun! I left it at a job and someone stole it two years ago.

Wow that is a super rare configuration being a 4door 5-speed. That is a heck of a deal for that thing! 204K miles is just breaking in for the 4.0L Ive seen them running as a daily driver with over 350,000 miles ans still going.

The A4 is a nice little car. Fun to drive. I have more fun driving the 4x4's I have an old 85 4runner that I drive back and forth to work. Its my little 4x4 go buggy.

LOVE the old 4Runner. She takes it when the weather is bad.
I hear ya. I drive that tiny little car and it is fun. Not that my Jeep is huge. But is is just fun with a stick. Hers is also a 6 speed. If it were an auto I would not even get in it. But when it comes to sharp corners. It is a blast. Im not sure what half the buttons do in that thing. So I dont touch them. She used to have a nice F250 then an explorer. Clearly a Ford girl.

All I have is a light switch and a cassette player. Oh and power windows, but that is it. I went to the good will and now I have a 25 tape collection for like 5 dollars lol.
Next will be a nice SUV. Just the best thing for kids.

Back on topic.
I love my SNG because it is the 4.0L Inline Off Roader of production framelocks. ;)

I enjoy driving a manual. My wife knows how to drive one and frequently drives the lifted 4runner. Please tell me you have some foreigner, poison, and Slaughter taped in there hahaha.

I love the comparison to the 4.0L! Very true.

LOL. Foreigner was the first one I grabbed,Albama, Biggy, Journey, Ozzy, Van Halen etc. I got the good ones.
If you move out here and become a Masshole we could be good friends. Babys, clunky trucks and knives. What else

Hahahahahaha!! Sounds like a plan to me!!!

Aias, what have you heard about the tanto version? I really wanted to try one of those next. I had the SNG which had a hot spot for me, the corner kinda digged in my hand. I liked the size a bit better but the two following SMF's fit me pretty damn well. I have been looking for a tanto but if there is an issue I would like to know about it before buying one.

I am not a big Tanto gy, but the strider Tanto SNG/SMF configuration looks amazing. I used to carry, now retired, an emerson CQC7B that is a tanto, and had great luck with it for the many years I carried it.

I think the biggest thing that used to scare me about tanto's was sharpening them.

I just ordered a CQC7V that should be here in a few days. I do love the tanto from Strider, it looks sexy as hell. I'm sure I will like the Emerson though.

I really loved my Emerson. It has a lot of sentimental value to me. The strider Tanto blades look amazing.

Cut some cardboard today to block cold air from my radiator. Sliced through two pieces of thick cardboard at the same time with no issues.

This SMF is really starting to grow on me, the blade stock is massive! The DLC with coyote G10 is a really nice combo.

Nick Rossi put a zero grind on my SnG tanto point. It's badazz. I will get a pic up.

Other side. shows the blade thickness well..

So about three weeks into the SNG and it is now part of its owner. It is also the only knife I own and that is for a reason. It has only improved in smoothness even with taking it down to clean up after a sticky situation.
Lock up has moved in nicely to 35% and with hard use, chopping and cutting with alot of pressure through hard materials it will slide over nicely to 50-60 and just barely stick nice and snug. The harder you use it, the tighter she gets and I love that.
The PD1 steel is very nice. It really likes having a little tooth on the edge and it just tears through anything. I also have it a high polish edge before this and it was very uniform. I just prefer the toothier edge. With great edge retention but most of all super tough steel. It has really seen everything and this stuff will not deform. Holy cow am I impressed with that. Cutting alot of plastic, cardboard, cement bags, sand bags, salt bags and more.

In the mean time I carbidized the thumb studs and lock up against the titanium frame. I did the edges around the lock bar but not the lock itself. As well as the spine of the tip as you can see in the picture. The more I use the tip it actually keeps it self sharpening, which gave me a chuckle. The way they do it from factory is awesome and I prefer a little stickiness when it locks.
This one also makes even contact on the g10 side and the TI. This is not the way ti used to be on old striders, but seems to be now.

The coating in cobalt cerakote has also been awesome. Easy to clean and plenty durable.

And last I resharpened this puppy to a nice 30 degree edge and it holds up to anything I need.

What a refreshing thread just to talk about the knives. I've had a lot of knives come and go and the SnG remains. I was recently tempted to trade for an XM18, but my example of the SnG is darn near perfect so I'm keeping it.
Not only are the knives good, they are absolutely unique.

You made the right choice. I sold off my SnG to raise funds for an XM-18 and was disappointed.
