My new Strider SNG......Interesting.

How does that Cerakote hold up?

Pretty good. Considering this is right now after I just scraped across the ground with all of my 240lbs stepping on it.

It's the strongest cerakoting I have experienced so far. The stuff on my orange HDS clicky flashlight looks like I drug it down a gravel road after a year of pocket use.

It looks even better Mark.
I cringed the first time I dropped it too, but you did a much better one after stepping on it lol.
Honestly it looks even better and that thing is bullet proof. Have a safe trip home if that is where your headed.
I am still waiting to drop my knife. Usually this happens after a drive and I forget I was playing with it on my lap. Then it falls out onto the ground when I get out of the car.
Between the both of us the cerakote has seen a little use. If you hit it with a hammer it may chip, but otherwise that stuff is nice and thick to provide alot of protection.

Not bad....

I have had great luck with DLC, and the worst luck with that crap black coating Cold Steel uses. Never used Cerakote and that looks like it held up well. Sucks you also stepped on it. Did you f*** up your shoe? :D

Love mine. Have had a wide range of brands in my hands(CRK included and a lot of em), but I seem to always gravitate back to Strider.

End of the day and a billion opinions aside it all comes down to personal taste. Sometimes these things read like what taste better, hotdogs or hamburgers?:)

Jeez....I like both. Not don't get me on who makes them.....

But I will say that I wish all Striders used that flamed titanium. I really like the look.

Haha me too, but then again I have glutton tendencies!

I like the stonewashed finish and flamed ti, life's full of variety.

Thanks Matt! My parents were in town and left this morning. I don't mind the scratches, gives it more personality.

It was closed so no damage to the shoe or knife as far as I'm concerned. More personality as far as I'm concerned. I can in right after and used it to make a sandwich!

Stop beating the hell out of my next Strider Mark, that was going to be my job!
(I doubt you will be parting with that SnG)

I love the way you just use your stuff, and that's how it should be.

Enjoy it bro, and when you get a minute, maybe start a threat on PD#1, I have heard a lot of good, but never seen longer term EDC use opinions....

Haha. You know I love to use my knives buddy! I have been taking pictures and paying attention to this steel so I can start a thread with a decent review.

Just need to get through the car show this weekend!!

I posted this as an edit to my OP.

I feel I was a bit harsh on my initial impressions of the SNG. I feel that there is no other knife on the market like the Strider line, just as with CRK. I feel that the knife is worth $400+ if you like the design and want a Strider, since that is the price of admission. No other knife is a Strider, but a Strider. Some knives might be better built, finished, have fancy boxes, paperwork etc, but they are not Striders. They may perform as good as a Strider, but they are not a Strider.

Anyhow, I guess my best endorsement is, would I buy another Strider.....yes. No question. But I got to get a Sebenza 21 first..... :D

I also want to apologize for being a dick in some of my replies and hijacking my own thread. So if you are reading this for the first time.....just ignore my asshole posts.

Strider makes a unique one of a kind knife. There really isn't anything similar to it on the market. Why people continue to compare them to Sebenzas is
a little ridiculous. The only thing comparable about them is price. If your looking for a more refined Strider try out a SJ-75s. I've found they have exceptional
fit n finish.

Just for perspective here are the four, I mentioned that overlap in function and quality

I have two Sebenzas and a couple of striders. I like pretty plain titanium frame locks usually with close to 3.5 inch blades.

CRK vs Strider comes up all the time. If I had to carry just one folding knife forever it would be a sebbie 21. I always wanted a real strider when I was enlisted and could only afford a buck strider. I have bought a few striders over the years all SNGs and never been impressed buy the lock or pivot. My favorite is my od dgg hollow grind but it has trouble finding it's way in my pocket.

I think there is a reason that CRKs have been copied and imitated a million times. I think there is probably a reason the strider hasn't been as much.
