My ONE & Only

REGULAR BLADE or INSINGO??????????????

Insingo.

Can't wait to get mine !

Post photos when you get it so at least I can salivate and dream. :)

My vote would be for the Insingo blade hands down. I much prefer it in function and aesthetics. I feel it's an overall more well rounded shape for a wider variety of cutting tasks.

I prefer a larger folder so my choice would be a Sebenza 25.

Given the various mission profiles of my knives (folders here) I could not imagine only one ... but the Sebenza 25 would be the one ... if there was to be only one.

Sm. Sebenza, easily. ...and the Delica for when you don't wanna booger up your Seb. ...and you might as well pick up a Para 2 for an ideal go between...

Insingo. More sheeple friendly, very functional.

The PM2 is the best all around edc for the money. If , as my mother used to say, money doesn't t grow on trees !!

One knife???? Really? One????
None of those that you listed would be my choice, not saying they are not great and amazing blades.
Depending on where you live, you may be able to carry autos, which after now getting 2 Protech TR4s, I'm sold fully on automatics. If I had one knife for the rest of my life I'd go with a Protech TR4 all day.

I'd go with the small Sebenza personally. I'm not a big folder guy and even I can see why it's so highly regarded and have thought about getting one after borrowing a friends a few times. I really prefer my Leatherman for edc most of the time, but every time I play with a Sebenza it just seems right.

I agree.

Own all 3. I end up using the PM2 and delica more.

The Insingo blade is more functional, specially on the small, it seems to maximize the cutting edge, also easier to sharpen imo...can't go wrong with either...

OP:

I own all three of your choices, and all are excellent knives.

That said, if it'll be your one and only, I would suggest the CRK Sebenza (Insingo version). IMO, over time, the CRK will age more gracefully over many years of use. I've had a large regular Sebenza for 14 years that still looks great after lots of use over the years. The scratches and 'snail trails' on the titanium handle scales from carrying/use only add to its character. Since late last year, my favorite CRK has been my large Insingo. I also own a small one that's also great, though I favor the large one for EDC.

Another great smaller CRK is the small Inkosi. It's a tad smaller than the small Sebenza, but the size difference feels negligible.

I'd go for delica. It can do everything a sebenza can for a fraction of the price. I recently sold mine cause I was never impressed with the steel. Wouldn't get very sharp and wouldn't hold an edge for nothing! The heat treat was terrible on mine. Delica vg10 however is great I think. However sebenza is well put together. But just ask ur self what can it do that delica can't?

If I were faced with the decision posited by the thread starter, I'd have a hard time. The small Sebenza is the obvious choice, BUT I don't prefer metal handles (inlays will help), or frame locks, or thumb studs. But this thread isn't about me.

The choice comes down to one's intended use. For a gentleman in nice clothing needing the occasional blade, the PM2 is too big and blocky. The Delica lightweight is the most practical, but not very classy. The Insingo is both practical and classy. If the OP is that sort of gentleman, and I think he is, then the small Sebenza wins handily.

Sebenza doesn't appeal to me but if you have the money and you want to own it for a long time, it will likely serve you well and give you the highest pride of ownership.
Personally the PM2 is one of my favorites and I'm carrying one right now.

My problem with your choice is that they are of a very different style to what you had before. The way they cut, the grind, and their size and weight. I have a small Sebbie 21 and its lovely, but the large is a better knife. The Mnandi is closer to what you had before, and pure class.

Think you need two knives. A penknife as you had before and a medium folder. I carry a penknife and use my folders. For work then the Spydecos are very good.

So my recommendation is a Mnandi for dress days and a Spyderco for work. Or one for the back pocket and one for the front. The one in the back pockets gets carried always and the one in the front because you have some work to do.

***UPDATE***
I ordered a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 C81GP2 this afternoon after stopping by my local knife shop and handling a pre-owned PM2 once again. After much thought, research, and reading of all of your suggestions, in the end the Spyderco won me over. I surprised myself because I had the Sebenza in a checkout cart ready to pull the trigger. I certainly won't rule out a "2 Knife" level of ownership. Since I am soon to receive a very workman-like PM2 in Black G-10, I can honestly see me owning a Sebenza with Box Elder Burl as a Yin to my Yang. Thanks again so very much guys!

Don't do it! Stick to your one knife rule. You were doing so well... Congrats on the PM2. Hope it serves you well as your only knife lol
