and my wallet. Chloe's at the vet being sedated and sutured. We're not sure what she got cut on but it happened Sat/early Sunday. The vet says it looks like she was running through the yard and got caught on something. She said she'll know more when she gets her shaved up and sutured. I feel TERRIBLE for not noticing sooner. :(

Poor dog, and don't feel bad for not noticing it sooner, there are some crappy dog owners out there who probably wouldn't have even took her to the vet.

My condolences to poor Chloe.

And my admiration to you ... for treating your dog as a member of your family.

I am so sorry that your pup is hurt, I am sure that she knows you love her. I will say a prayer for her, and your family.

they're my babies! i'm STILL paying for the vet bill for the little shit that ate the sofa and inflamd his pyloric valve so bad he needed to have exploratory surgery!

Ouch! That sure looks nasty. Hope she's better soon.

And some pets like to play the hero. Picard got bitten badly, but he was behaving like: oh I'm alright, just a bit weak, and then I noticed the blood spots everywhere he had sat down. First time he got into the kennel all by himself as soon as I got the kennel out to carry him to the vet. We were lucky though, was very deep but still only a flesh wound. After two weeks he was ok.

My dog boob's jumped through our glass door once about a year ago, after a quick check over he looked fine. Moments later we began seeing blood jumplets all over the floor so we did another check over, as i was running my hand over his neck the fur moved and so did the skin. Just about in the same spot about three inches higher his neck was sliced wide open with a 5-6in cut. You could see veins pulsating, we called vet after vet but it was sunday and emg. would cost a boat load, so we got him on a table and sewed him up with a sewing needle and sewing string. he is fine and dandy now no prob's.
Dont worry to badly, your dog will be good as new in no time.

That looks bad.

Good on you for treating the pup this good. I know a lot of people wouldn't have even looked at it twice.

yikes... poor Chloe...:o my damn dog has had 5 surgeries in her 8 years of life....:( not to mention the fact that she is incontinent and wets the bed... she pretty much has her own credit card....

Oh, my! That ... does sound familiar. I might have been through something quite similiar with my baby (in my avatar pic).:o

Poor Thing! I hope she gets well soon! Dont beat yourself up, like people, some pets tend to hide their pain.

I hope she feels better soon. Out pets are all family members and we'd do whatever it would take to keep them well.

Geez, that looks bad.... atleast your at the vet getting it squared away.

i still haven't heard from them :(. they had to wait for her food to digest before they sedated her. she's such a good dog. she never even yelped when it happened! she hasn't been too miserable.

I was so pissed this morning from taking the trash out and seen someone drove down our street using a baseball bat hitting / destroying mailboxes...
I feel dumb, seeing the pooch pics put today in perspective for me kinda hard to explain

That is a nasty wound, the tissue looks beefy red which is good. hopefully you wont have to deal with infections later on, good luck
