My poor Chloe

Best wishes to you and your dog Mrs. S! My girlfriend (Jenni) and I have a dog and cat and they are most certainly equal family members :)

I wouldn't be too upset about the sugar gliders. Jenni used to have one before she became an RVT and even now she says she will never get another one. They are hard to keep healthy and happy. Not to mention the fact that when do get sick it can be difficult (and expensive) in many areas to find a vet who has the proper experience with them.
 
Poor dog, we really get to love those fellows don't we ?

I have a dog that we picked up after she was found in bamboos with her brothers and sisters back in Madagascar. She has since become a family member, has 9 years and has traveled with us in from Madagascar to Canada passing by India. She is a family member.

She is kind of like a spagnol ...
 
Sorry to hear about Chloe. I know that that everyone in the Shot family is pretty upset but I'm sure between the vet and your care she will be on the fast track to recovery. It amazing how attached we get to our pets ... we have a one year old female lab and if something were to happen to her, my wife and 3 daughters would lose it. Best wishes to a speedy recovery for Chloe!
 
$367 later Chloe's home! She's a bit tired and has been sleeping since she got home. The vet said it was a little larger then you can see in the pics b/c it actually went up into her hair. Once she shaved her she realized there was more dead tissue then she thought. She had to cut the flap of skin off and then pull it all together. It doesn't look bad. Sutures out in 10 days and she sent her home w/ some pain meds.

She's pretty confident that she ripped it on something. Inspecting the entire yard we came up w/ 1 nail on a fence post near where the sweet fur (squirrels) ducks into the next yard. We suspect she jumped to try to get the squirrel and caught the nail. It's from when the bozo behind us had his fence put it. The guy putting the fence in had the screw there to tie a string so the rails would be level. Wish we had proof b/c then he'd be paying our vet bill. Oh well. She's home and expected to do well!
 
Good news. Keep an eye on it to be sure it doesn't develop an infection. ;)
 
I'm glad to hear Chloe is doing good, hate to see it when an animal get's hurt. Dog's and animals in general are pretty tough.

YES! i remember when brody was a pup. holy crap....he had to go out like 2x's a night! got any pics?

thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers! I'm sure she'll be chasing sweet fur in no time! hair the dog that bit you right? lol
 
Sorry to see your dog hurt. I had a cat that got cut in a very similar spot and it looks almost the same as that. She was ok. And I'm shure your dog will be too.
