While the board was down, i found something really interesting.

I cant take credit for this at all, i just happened to stumble upon it. But this guy tested lots of knives and ranked them, if you scroll over you can see how everything performed and even watch videos of each knife being tested. Lots of great videos, just scroll over to the video tab in the table and click and it will take you to the youtube video. The videos are in Russian, but still some cool stuff to watch.

Folders and fixed blades in different steels and everything. Its not every brand or a bunch from every maker, but still its pretty cool information to check out.

Also interesting to note, the BK14 has the highest score out of every knife tested. Up to 300 dollar knives were tested too.

My mother joined my dad this morning after being apart for five years. She passed with the same grace and dignity that she lived her life. Even with the progressive loss of mobility, speech and (toward the end) the ability to take food or water, she never complained once, always had a big smile and would laugh at my jokes. She was something else indeed. While all of us here are sad that we will never see that smile again, it is for selfish reasons and we are happy that she is finally beside my dad where she belongs. And all is right with the world.

I'm sorry for your loss... but you have a beautiful attitude about it. I felt much the same way when my Dad died... that Mom was waiting for him over yonder.

Dammit, now ya made me tear up a lil bit... but not in a bad way.

Sorry for your loss, Trade. JT put it well. Your attitude shows that it is a loss for those left behind, but you recognize that it is selfish to want her to stay past her time. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

Trade . . .
Condolences from NE Tennessee. Your confidence that your folks are back together says a lot about you and how deeply you care.

Trade, my condolences to you and your family. If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to call.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Much appreciated.

Now snark onward!! Lets get the shit flying in all directions again!

My new phone is quite easily the size of a dinner plate. Getting used to the increased pocket space it takes up, but the increased screen size is definitely an improvement. Even better is the stylus, I now have gotten rid of the entirety of my notebooks which are now stored digitally, which is just downright awesome.

Trade, when gimme a call whenever is convenient. Had something I wanted to run by you.

Tradewater, I'm very sorry to hear about your mother. I know from conversations with you that she was a tough ol lady, the folks on the other side better be on their toes.

What kind of phone D?

My wife just ordered the Nexus 5 phone. She likes her Nexus 7 more than her Ipad or Ipad mini so she figured she would like the nexus 5 more than the iphone.

I need a new phone, mine wont charge any more, but when ever i do get one, which im in no rush to do, it will be whichever one is cheap at the time HAHA. If i was trying to keep up with that trend id never have any money for knives.

Didn't phones that require a stylus go out of style in the 1980's? About the time Don Johnson's Bren Ten went out of style....?

If the pros didn't outweigh the cons I would completely get rid of my cell phone and hook everybody up in my family with a long range walki-talkies

Trade, it's a damn shame to hear but it sounds like you have a good outlook on it. If you need anything, I'm right across the river don't hesitate to ask!

To be fair, the stylus I bet isn't required, it just makes using the phone easier. I use a stylus with mine. It isn't like the stylus with the old Palm Treo stylus. They seem to be more like a soft point.

WW, see if you can't get an older Nokia. Those tanks, were built like phones.

Be safe,

Jeremy
