My version of the Wave Master....

Count me in! I have a Warren Thomas folder with Spiderhole and it is extremely easy to use and get used to and does away with the disc or stud openers! He licenses it from Spyderco.

The Ti body could be roughed up on the "Tactical Models" for better grip like G10 or Micarta...on the show Models, you could have them anodized...or a satin finish.

As for the frame lock, what's stronger than a body thickness of Ti blocking the tang?

Hey!
I'm not worried of slipping, i just like the "warm" feeling of g-10 and micarta. Ti would get VERY cold here during winter, not something that i'd like having close to my skin. (this has actually proved to be a real problem)
Have no doubt that an interframe is great strength wise, but i don't like how it feels. (only experience is with BM's model though)
I think that Alan Elishewitz makes an interframe that is covered with a g-10/micarta scale, that'd work for me

Joel did a great job on this!!

Excellent job again, Joel! You guys like the spydie hole, huh? Dunno - I guess I just like the disk, but hey - I'll get the damn thing, no matter what it looks like... I'm just picturing bead blasted titanium handles and liners.... niiiiceeeee....

And, you know Don, if those holes in the frame are big enough, you CAN open beer bottles with 'em!

I updated the pic with the new one, plus also added this one:

Based on the commander frame, the emerson wave and my blade design with commanderish grind lines (to match the set)
Also in Boron carbide (black) and type III hard coat anodized handles...

Enjoy!

Will someone PLEASE stop this madness!!! It is not fair to tease us like this. If only this would become reality!!!

I would get one of each design. That "Commanto" is AWESOME Joel!!

Mr. Emerson, we NEED these knives!

How much money can I pull out of my 401(k)?..................

OMG, I gotta have that tanto Commando!!! Emerson would have to be completely KNUTS to not use that design!!! First off, they'd have to tighten QC first.

Wow - Joel, very nice.

I have to say that the fact that you could cut a cigar would be one of my major motivations for purchasing such a knife

Joel I gotta tell ya', my mouth fell open and I uttered a faint "Holy Crap" at the sight of the Tanto bladed Commander. That was incredible!

John

now i'm IMPRESSED!! i'm not sure how many of those i would have to buy! 2...no, 3...i like that second one a lot, maybe 5....but wait, 6 is my lucky number

Joel...to hell with EKI, sorry guys, make this a similar custom collaboration with Elishewitz, or even Deryk Munroe, though it looks more like Allen's type of work. Unless you can get MT to pick up on it...only it'll have to lose the Wave.

If EKI doesn't move on it...definately do something with it!!!

Jackyl, the whole point is that it has the wave. I want the wave!! I also want it to be priced within reason. I would hope that others agree.

Nice job, Joel!

I also don't particularly like the handle holes and don't think there should be a weight concern - titanium's pretty light anyways.

The hole in the blade is spiffy - don't know if Emerson would want to license it from Spyderco. On the flipside, I'm with John in thinking that the standard model's thumbdisk is kinda excessively bulky...

That concept tanto design looks pretty cool, although I'd probably prefer to get the standard Commander blade shape.

So, John, how many of the first dozen are you getting?

What Phillip said.

MT is going to make recurved folder. But instead of a liner lock or a frame lock, it's going to have a plunger lock.

The Amphibian.

I've handled it and the first proto several times . . . Very nice. The only thing it lacks is a wave.

I know man, but what are the odds that EKI will listen? Also, think how long it will take them to release them, and the price they will want. I'd also want higher quality than they are capable of. I think MT could do this within 6 months, and keep it under $200. $250 at the most. Maybe Joel can get Emerson to pick this exact design up, AND do something similar with MT, that won't cause problems with the Emerson over the Commander's design. Maybe it could simply be a new blade choice on the L-CC...Tanto L-CC. Tanto L-UDT? All I know is that blade kicks @ss!!! Hell maybe Spyderco would pickup on that design...their capable of the high quality, I'm just not too fond of their qurrent designs. That would get the blade hole in there for sure!!!
smile.gif
...and they use "smooth" Ti. handles on several of their models already. This could do many directions Joel...I just hope you do soemthing with it...or let me have Darrel Ralph slap that blade in an Apogee frame.
