My wife want a knife. Suggestions?

i might get some booos but the cold steel master hunter fits that bill i have one its cheep its stainless i use it for my kayak knife

I might be duranged but a KA-BAR "worthog" is an awesome little knife thats overlooked.

There's nothing wrong with the Buck 692 with 420HC steel or Cabela's version in SV-30 steel. Price $50-100 respectively.

Good luck!

Are you sure the Echo's handle is rubberized? Polyamide is a hard plastic, isn't it?

Your right that it isn't actually rubber but it's not exactly hard either..say in the hard as on a bayonet or bowling ball hard..It's more like a really dense hockey puck hard.

Well my wife asked me to get her first fixed blade knife for hiking and minor camping chores. I need some suggestions on what to get her. Nothing expensive. i need it to hold up to batoning, fire prep, easy sharping, doesn't rust easily, and food prep also. She wants the blade no more than 4" long and it has to have a rubber handle grip. ... I already tried to give her the mora I have, but she says it's not her taste. ...

She just THINKS she doesn't want a Mora because she hasn't seen the right model yet. Go to the website www.ragweedforge.com and show her all the pretty pictures there. Just like the knife I bought for my wife that she likes, your wife might really like a Frost Clipper with a bright yellow sheath and handle, and a stainless steel blade. The Clippers also have a rubber overmold layer on the grip part of the handle. There are several other colors available, too, and most can be ordered with stainless steel blades. Women are not big on heavy belts like most men are, and the Clipper's sheath clips securely onto even a waistband with no belt at all, like on my shorts. Also, this model easily snaps into and out of its sheath with nothing else for your wife to fumble with. The size is right and the cost is minimal, yet the quality is very good.

Price, availability, performance, durability, customer satisfaction. Did you personally have a bad experience with one or is you just a fanboy? Everyone else is trying to think of a good knife for the wife. No one else found it necessary to mock someone else's suggestion. Play nice, we are all frends here.

Whats a fanboy?? How about a hard and uncomfortable handle for the F1, don't recall mocking the blade, steel or the price. Considering that the brief mentioned rubber handles maybe we should also recommend rubber not plastic.

I don't think you need to make a big deal of this. Just ... play nice.
