What does a knife in Pakistan look like? What is traditional there?

Taking into consideration that every bully in the neighborhood has conquered the territory we currently call pakistan (est 1947) for the last 5000 years, there probably really isn't something you would call traditional, a better question would be to ask Mughal-Bros his ethnicity and origin of his ancestors.

I think asking how you heat treat is a fair question. I am new to knife building, knowing that If I tried to sell something on here, and said it was such and such hardness, and professed I did my own heat treating, I would expect such a question, and not be offended by it. I live here in good ol' America. Does not mean I was born with the innate ability to heat treat steel correctly.

This isn't a sales thread, he doesn't have anything advertised in this thread and it was moved to Shop Talk. He specifically started the topic to address concerns over the quality of his blades.

Here is a little factoid I ran across while looking up the surname Mughal

Sindh

Sindh is home to various Mughal tribes such as the Tarkhan Mughals and the Arghun Mughals, it is also home to the Lohar Mughals (A class of Mughals who excelled as metalsmiths and swordsmiths). There are also many Mirza Mughals in the province.

Hey Mughal.

Great to see some pics of your shop. The reality is that if you put out a quality, proven product people will buy it. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Considering this is the internet posting pics and videos is the best way to show us what your capable of. Don't lets idiots posting stupid questions stop you from being an active member of this great community..

Cheers,
Jay

Another factoid: the Mughals were Turkic people who invaded and conquered first Afghanistan and then India under their leader Baber and his son Humayoun.

Sir are you talking about my knives or my cast ? i think this is a website to talk about knives not about " mughals history "

Both

The fact that you use mughal in your BF name and after doing a little light reading, I find your cast is well known for being excellent swordsmiths..... very interesting ;0)

You do make nice looking stuff. I am confused by the W.B.knives stamp though , is the W upside down?

I was getting there, just not as bluntly. His use of Mughal is interesting. As to the types and kinds of knives from the area, aren't you curious of the common knife or the traditional knife of an area that has had so many cultural influences? I am.

How about the proper way to build a katara, or forge the spine of a peshqabz. It would belong in the sword forum but I would love to see a pata made. (Who didn't love that one in the movie Willow)
