Mystery GAW/Challenge

Oh ... what the heck. I wasn't going to, but I guess I'll enter. (I try not to enter a lot of GAWS)
Thank you for the chance.

The knife I'll carry is a Rough Rider RR1062 "A Stroke of Luck" canoe.
I haven't carried it much. A Buck 389 or no "R" number "Remington" (not quotes) canoe has been my choice of canoe so far this year.
It can join the large stockman, and (Rough Rider RR1838 Hopalong Cassidy) moose in my pocket. I'll keep the Buck 110LT "Smoke Jumper" and Marbles two blade slip joint MR417 Folding Hunter on my belt, as well.

Why so many knives? Simple: No one blade profile is "ideal" for every task.
Even though I'm retired now, I still don't know what (if any) knife tasks I'll face during any given day.
This way, I'm "prepared" ... for the most part. Only the clip point blade is redundant with this combination ... and maybe the spear point, or the Spey/Budding blade. The "spear point" (note quotes) on the Moose looks a lot like a Spey/Budding blade.

Maybe I should swap out the moose for a trapper, as well? I haven't carried a trapper in years and/or decades. (although I do keep one in the under seat bag of my Rollator (4wheel walker). I guess I can put the trapper in my pocket and the moose in the rollator.

So, in pocket starting tonight for at least a week, is the RR1062 "A Stroke of Lick" canoe, RR1057 "A Stroke of Luck" large stockman, and a RR1058 "A Stroke of Luck" full size trapper.

(I wonder what the RR1059, RR1060, and RR1061 "A Stroke of Luck" knives are? I should ask them.)

To keep it fair, unfortunately we're past the entry period, but we'd be more than happy to have you play along this week. Good news is Andy (@mqqn ) has already entered for you, so in a way, you're already in. Your canoe sounds like a great choice for the week, with St. Patrick's Day next week :)

Great day yesterday, and I wanted to post some highlights.

I had just finished breakfast, and this post made me hungry again!

That knife is in great shape r8shell! Slightly jealous of the rounded bolsters with my selection for the week.

Can't say I've ever tried one of these Jack, but it's on the list of things I need to try soon!
Helping me make a crisp (potato chip) butty for lunch :D

Did you eat the Blizzard first, Vince? An ice cream shop we went to when I was younger had a chalkboard with "Life is uncertain, eat dessert first!" on the wall ;)
Did you say food?

The knife didn't really do anything here: finger food. But it looks pretty on the table. ;)

Wow there was a lot of food posted yesterday! Sweet potato and chicken looks really tasty Dan.

And even though I poked fun for not eating the skin, that's a heck of a peeling job! ;)
Nothing exciting today. The thick main blade actually did a good job peeling a apple.

Dan, I always enjoy your outdoor shots! Great how you'll get out in it, no matter the weather, and have a blast doing it.

There was a thread a few days ago about thee books, and Walty being a Case man. I really enjoyed the show, and have the books on my list to get to in time.

And I hate to play favorites, but this was probably my favorite post yesterday. I actually had someone poke their head in my office to see what the heck I was laughing at. They didn't get it, and now think I'm a little stranger for it...
The goats are questioning my selection. They say - “if that sucker doesn’t slice us an apple with a quickness, you can put it back in the dang drawer”.

hold tight. Apples are comin.

Still having fun with the TJ. Have a great Tuesday, all.

Didn't have a Blizzard. When I do, I like the one with fruit (pineapple, coconut, banana, and/or pecans). I ordered the chicken strip basket. Comes with fries, Texas toast, and cream gravy. That's water in the cup.

What do Whataburger and Dairy Queen have in common (besides their Texas origin)? Nolan Ryan used to do commercials for both.

Got the DT's! But I'll make it. It's only a week!
I'm starting to feel it too, Vince.
I just got that new Damascus Moki. I miss her

Crazy canucks man .... I am telling you .... there's some craaazy canucks out there
Lol!
Yes indeed
But with crazy weather you'll get crazy behavior
Nice pics.

Thanks Mike.
The hot sausages and vegetable medley were tasty :)
Some onions and baby carrots with black beans, all in the skillet. Not exactly conventional, so I added some sliced ham for good measure

Day 2 I paired this Opinel with a scout knife, however I only used it to open a single package. It excelled but would have been a boring photo :). Today I paired it with a Pioneer X that I have with me every day. At first I disliked the patina, but it is growing on me. Hopefully I’ll need to do some more slicing today.

Hey there,
What's the 1912 on the peanut bolster represent?
The cocobolo peanut was a gift from a Porch member. It was probably a SFO. The tang stamp indicates 1990 (though it could be 1993--it's small and hard to see; the date was written from 1990-1993, and the last digit can't be a 1 or a 2. I think it's a 0). The "1912" is probably a serial number.

Ahh, ok-- I guess I was hoping for something more remarkable, like when the Peanut came into being....
Anyway, enjoy your peanut and orange lunch :)

My son's babysitter is sick so i skipped work to stay home with him today, havnt cut much yet, might go downstairs and work on a few belts and other leather projects if he ever takes a nap for me (unlikely) have a good day everyone!20200310_115250_copy_1512x2016.jpg

Nice photos everyone. I'm stuck with a phone that I barely know how to use. I'll work on learning to resize photos, but I'm pretty busy going through Dad's stuff. I'll try to get one up here, green brass and all. It's not bad for being left in a leather sheath for 40 years. I did open a package of beef jerky yesterday and I prepped my grapefruit in the dining room this morning, choking way up and keeping the handle of my 110 tucked against my arm so as not to freak out Mom's neighbors. The 110 kept shifting in my usual LF pocket, so I put it down next to my wallet in my RF. It rides like a dream and I forget it's there. Amazing.
