Hey Dave,
"Bloch's Rocks" and "Sal's & Vinny's" were both mine, among others. I didn't know we we're competeing with your mother-in-law. You seem like an inteligent man, this isn't going to be a tough choice for you is it? What's the runner up going to get? Is nepotism fair? Well I'm sure none of us want to cause you any marital problems. So it's going to be "Flatiron"? It's got a nice ring to it. I bet she's going to be thrilled with a new knife from you.

This was fun!

Relax Phill:

No one said "Flatiron Knives" was chosen. In fact since my mother in law came up with this name that's probably a good reason not to pick it (Heh, Heh). Flatiron is a pretty good name but the word "iron" sounds kind of old to me and I'm looking for something modern. In any case she is not a BF member so she's not in the contest. If we do pick Flatiron I'll pick a BF member for second place and they will win the knife.

All the name submissions are making this contest tough plus the fact that I've been putting in 12 hour days and trying to finish my Christmas shopping. I'll do my best to wrap up this contest soon however in the mean time bear with me.

Dave, I was only kidding around, I do that sometimes, and I am relaxed, in fact if I were any more relaxed I'd be unconsciuos.

You have a lot of work ahead of you, good luck, no kidding.

Actually, I kinda like "Flatiron". It sounds strong. The problem is I'd be willing to BET that there could be problems with Spyderco, which has a folder called the "Flatiron" or Flat Iron". With companies making totally different products (I know I suggested "Sharp Knives", which could be a problem with Sharp electronics), it isn't as likely to be a problem. With other knife mfr's, on the other hand, even if it doesn't present a legal problem, it may very well cause confusion.

How about "Pokeknives"? Poke is Japanese for "pocket"... some of you mighta heard of a little thing called "Pokemon" which means "pocket monsters" "Pokeknives" would mean "pocketknives".

With all of these suggestions, I'm sure that you'll end up with something good (well, as long as you pick one of MINE anyway!!!)

If it's a company name it should sound like a company name. Follow the KISS principal.

Bloch Knife & Tool. BKT for short.

Easy for customers to remember, easy to spell, easy to say and leaves no doubt as to what you are all about with plenty of room to make any style of knife you want.

Names with "tactical" or "tech" in them pretty much lock you into one niche or another and if you want to branch out into kitchen cutlery or hunting knives or plain old pocket knives they won't identify with the name and will be overlooked.

David,

Please don't think there's a slam in this one anywhere, but how about:

"Bloch Head Knives"

It's kinda catchy sounding, and let's people know that it's your knife company, and also let's people know that you don't take yourself se SERIOUSLY that you can't laugh at yourself.

Respectfully,

Dave.

P.S. If someone already submitted that one, please don't think I'm trying to steel your idea. I admit I didn't read through all 5 pages before submitting this one.

Okay Dave,
I'm still in there pitching, how about?
"NeoClassic Knives"

"Will work 4 Knives!"

I'm still sticking with Razor's Edge, whether or not it's Razor's Edge knives, Razor's Edge & Tools or however it's used
