Nathan the Machinist Grinding gadgetry

I keep telling you guys that the whole recirculating closed system is available with hoses and all for $20:

Get a used Polar Care chiller pack. It has the power supply, pump, hoses, disconnect fitting, and sealed ice pack container. Just fill it with ice, add water to the line, pop on the lid, carry it out to the shop, and enjoy hours of chilled platen grinding. The flow rate is perfect for the platen. The only mod needed is to cut off the chiller pad and attach the dual hose to the Bibb fittings on the platen. It is so easy even a Saskatchewanian can do it.

These Polar Cube, Polar Care, etc. chillers are used after knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow surgery. They are sitting on ebay, at yard sales, and at the second hand/thrift stores for almost nothing. The insurance company pays for them and they are only used a few days to a week in most cases. They are perfect for our purpose. I see them for as little as $10. Ask at a local orthopedic doctor and they might have one sitting around, or can put you in touch with someone who has one to get rid of.
