Native LC200N, any news?

I got to fondle one in a store today, it was pretty nice but one thing I thought was weird was that the store was using magnets to hold them by the clip.

Does anyone know what steel was used for these clips? I’m sure it would be rust-proof enough for my uses, but I’m between one of these and the salt 2. If it’s going to be ‘rust proof’ how rust proof are we talking?

I thought the Salts have Ti clips? My Pacific does I know for sure (stripped it)

Got mine, it’s nice but it’s real stiff out of the box to open. I added some oil and I’ve been working it in the past few days and it’s still takes 2 hands to open. Adjusted the screws with no change. Not sure if my patience is getting shorter in my older age but I don’t remember it talking me this long to work in. Oh well I’ll stay at it.

Got mine! Not stiff at all, very nice color (not day glow yellow at all).

Two odd things about it:

1) the blade portion that makes up the tang/pivot is finished to an almost mirror polish, is this to prevent rust adhesion?

2) the writing on the blade, including the bug, are almost “ghosted” on and instead of clearly inscribed dark they are a super light grey color that is almost invisible at certain angles, nice touch.

Does anyone know what steel the hardware is made from? Everything except the lock bar is coated, is the lock bar the same steel as the blade usually?

I got my SpyderEdge today. Very nice knife, a little stiff to open. I used some nano oil on the pivot which helped a bit.

I love the yellow color. It’s a nicer hue than the H1 salts IMO.

The serrated edge is wicked sharp. I haven’t read much about SE for this steel.

As Sal said above, the hardware is made from a very stainless steel.

Regarding the lock bar, I think it is made from LC200N, but this needs to be confirmed.

I would assume that the lockbar is also LC200N, but look forward to confirmation.

Does anyone have any information about serrations with this steel (testing, etc...)?

I briefly considered the SE but I already have a Salt 2 in SE so I went PE, I feel kind the whole point of this model and steel was to make available a super rust resistant PE model with better edge holding, I was somewhat surprised they even made a SE version.

Got my KC pre-order yesterday, fit and finish check! Plenty sharp, a little stiff but good detent. Another winner!

Fresh in. I’m excited to test out LC200N. I’m even more excited for the Pacific Salt 2 now. I noticed the knife is the exact size of the apple bananas sitting on my counter.

PS: I like the way this photo turned out. I may submit it for the calendar contest next year.

I cut a bunch of cardboard, single and double walled today, 1 large and 3 medium size boxes all down to small hand sized pieces (for recycling of course!)...The factory edge went from hair popping to still a solid working edge by definitely dull by the end, I would say it performed better than VG10 but not quite to the level of S30V or XHP...totally unscientific but I can definitely say that the edge retention is leaps and bounds beyond PE H1.

What HrC are these?

Probably not everyone's cup of tea but if you don't want the bright yellow drawing attention in the pocket here's an option.
