1117 is also 1095CV, though only 1/8" thk. Should be perfectly capable, but isn't any shorter or lighter than the Eskabar or Necker (same weight, and longer than either.)
The SnakeCharmer IS smaller and lighter, and quality stainless. So pick up a 29 package and try that out...

I liked the 14 forever but then my tastes matured and now I'm really appreciating the 11. I'm only missing one style from my collection, and that the serrated one.
