Me too. Could make custom surf boards on the side!

And, re: necka, I love octopus -- cook some up, IG  . For David, Dan and Higgins, maybe we could slip some octopus burgers and squid fries into them after a few beers.:)
The menu is still open. But I could do up a couple of octopus. I asked the guys at this Sunday's knife show (Dan Too!!!). If they would like the cacoila ( marinated pork) that I made last year and they said yes.
Since we got so many Gaylicks attending maybe corned beef and cabbage would be in order. Portagee Style.;) ;)

Wow, I got excited for a minute. HI (hammer-in), HI (Hawaii)? Took me all of a very painful split second to realize my brain shorted, and nope, their's no hammer-in in Hawaii. I originally came from NH as a spud. You guys make me wish I was still there. That's gunna be one hell of a HI! Sure wish there were some folks around here I could get together with. Unfortunately blacksmiths and knifemakers in Hawaii are about as scarce as a bronze-breasted hip-swinging bikini-clad lava-hot foxy-Polynesian beach-bunny is in a New England snowstorm.
Like the other guys said but if you pay to have me and my forges, presses, anvils and etc. we can have one there. I may even stay for awhile.:D :D
OH!! Helen and the dogs too.

Done, but it seems you all will have to send your shops out by freight carrier first. Once your stuffs here, I'll send you the airplane tickets (not!)

Are there any of you fine fire, forge and file folks around the Tarzana, California area? I'm gunna be there in June with fam visiting the in-laws. It'd be GREAT to connect with some folks then. Maybe round up some stuff I could pallet up and freight over to Hawaii too.

Boy!!! Give you 2 beers and look what happens.  :)

I'm not coming if all you bozos do is feel each others' puds all weekend. I don't care how big or small anyone's is, the only one I'm touching is mine, and I ain't sharing with any of you, nor am I touching it in front of you!

WTF, is this "Brokeback Hammer-In"?:p :D

Yeah I dunno about them....I'd bring a knife i were you....just make sure its a bigger knife than everyone elses so you dont had blade envy.

i never wanted it. its like a curse.....
damn this knife addiction, damn IG living closest to me!! damn it all!
man i can't wait for this hammer-in. its gonna be one hell of a time.
not to mention my brother in law said he should have some of his home made beer ready for it too. not sure what kind he made but do you guys really care?:p

Im excited for this HI as well! Last fall was the first time I met everyone and I didnt have much for show and tell. This time the HI is about 2 weeks before a show that I am doing, so I should have 8-10 pieces to bring along.

I may bring some handle materials as well. A local wood shop has blocks of african blackwood that are perfect for bowie blocks and sells them for like 4$ each.

Mr Purple wanted to see how I did clay coating for HT. I am not nearly an expert enough to warrant a demo or anything like that, but if anyone else wants to have a mini clay coating session or something like that, we can figure something out. We probably wont have the time to actually HT, quench, and temper, though.....Im still contemplating porting the Paragon into the trunk and bringing it along, in which case maybe we could HT some blades during the day but not sure we'd wanna get into oil and quenching and tempering and the time involved.....
