Hey everyone!

I am in need of a new knife to carry while wearing a suit. I currently carry a little Buck slip joint, but I want something a little bigger. Here is what I am looking for:

Looks good with a suit

Light weight

2.5-3.5 inch blade

Locks open

Has a pocket clip

This knife will mostly be carried in the inside pocket of my suit jacket, but will occasionally be clipped to the left front pocket of my suit pants (my normal EDC position). I've found my normal large folders are either too heavy or too tactical looking to fit in this role. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I should add that my budget is 125 USD. Sorry!

Suit pants are very thin so you don't want anything too heavy. Perhaps a Spyderco Salt 1 in black frn.

This is what I use, but they're hard to find now I think.

Boker Plus Urban Trapper. Very light design @ 1.8 oz. with Ti liners. Rides deep in pocket. Slim profile. Comes in liner lock g-10, CF, wood, and a Full Ti frame lock version. with 3.4" VG10 blade. Flipper on IKBS all for a decent price around $70. Designed by Brad Zinker. His custom version which is basically the same knife goes for about $500. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1449473327.907509.jpg

I generally carry a traditional when I'm wearing a suit; mainly because my modern knives are "too heavy" and create a sloppy look (even a Sage 2).
I've been considering a CRK Mnandi for when I go formal; but I haven't been able to convince myself

+1 on the Boker Plus Urban Trapper. I think the cocobolo scales would fit your need perfectly.

It might be on the small side but look at the Spyderco Chaparral. The carbon fibre looks good, it has great fit and finish and it's one hell of a cutter.

For suit/gentleman's carry I tend to prefer a traditional folder of sorts. My favourite is probably the Laguiole pattern. It is, to me, practically the definition of elegance in a knife. They are traditionally slipjoints, but Fontenille-Pataud makes a lockback version. They are on the pricey side though (area of $200).

I also like small navajas, both for the history (one of the first known folding knives, and later possibly the first folding knife with a locking mechanism) and for the somewhat atypical and exotic design. I have an Expósito Albacete navaja con carraca, which I think complements more formal attire quite nicely.

ZT 0450, ZT 0770CF, Spyderco Chaparral, and a wee bit heavier, the ZT 0808.
Or, Benchmade 940-1 (don't have one, but want one).

Slim and light, with a touch of class, 940-1. Not cheap though.
BM 707, also light.
Perhaps a BM 943, not quite as light as those 2, but a great discrete carry.

Are you open to inexpensive Chinese knives?
