Need a Knife to Wear with a Suit

Barman1 just beat me with the memory. And I've been seeing it on sale in different places the last week or so.

Hey everyone!

I am in need of a new knife to carry while wearing a suit. I currently carry a little Buck slip joint, but I want something a little bigger. Here is what I am looking for:

Looks good with a suit

Light weight

2.5-3.5 inch blade

Locks open

Has a pocket clip

This knife will mostly be carried in the inside pocket of my suit jacket, but will occasionally be clipped to the left front pocket of my suit pants (my normal EDC position). I've found my normal large folders are either too heavy or too tactical looking to fit in this role. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Mnandi by Chris Reeve fits your description perfectly. At 1.25oz it is very light. The choice of different wood inlays in the handle give a very nice look. The clip is machined from a piece of titanium and looks like a nice pen from the outside. Many people carry it in a shirt pocket. do a quick search in the Chris Reeve forum and you will find loads of nice example pictures. Good luck.

William Henry E10 series all the way:

This is what I use, but they're hard to find now I think.
^^^^This!! Either the ripple 1 or 2. Also tryout the Spyderco Manix 2, Spydie Delica, CRKT M16 series & Kershaw Skyline. If u dont mind fixed, try a CRKT sweet k.i.s.s, or any of the CRKT Folts series, hidden right under ur necktie.

I have to wear dress pants to both my jobs and I always throw my Spyderco Sage 1 in my pocket. Perfect size for EDC in my opinion.

I don't know if anyone has said it yet but the Kershaw Chill is a very classy looking knife, also very thing and lightweight so no need to worry about it looking or feeling funny inside dress pants.

The Kershaw Launch series are very sleek and (fairly) light and their aluminum handles have a very modern look that matches well with charcoal or similar colored clothing and things like iPhones etc. The Link in aluminum is another option (and a lot cheaper).

On a side note, please don't pocket clip a knife in suit pants, it looks ridiculous and will ruin your pants in no time. Suit pant pockets aren't really even made to be used (including the back ones, wallet carry will destroy pockets in no time) at all but if you must then at least don't clip it onto the fabric.

As to buying suits, I have found that buying quality pays off over time, I rarely buy suits (but wear them a lot because I'm a lawyer and have to sometimes) but when I buy one I pay for good quality and tailoring, they last longer and will be overall more comfortable (better fit and materials) than cheap options.

I carry the gents Victorinox Cadet Swiss Army knife. It is small form yet does most cutting jobs that one would have to do when dressed up.

Here is a video about the Cadett.

Another great little EDC is the Victorinox Alox Money Clip

A little bigger is the Kershaw Scallion.

And if you want to spend a few more bucks the Spyderco Gayle Bradley Air is a beauty.

What is the Boker Mini Kwaiken supposed to fetch?
Sounds like it would be right up your alley.
