Need a Knife to Wear with a Suit

This Sanrenmu 7030LUC makes for an excellent dress accessory and can be had for less than $15. 8Cr13MoV blade.

There's also a variant of the 7030LUC with a gold trim around the perimeter of the handle for those who prefer something a little more gaudy or flashy.

Lightweight and thin are both important in dress pants. Lots of good suggestions in this thread, but also some chunky (Manix 2? Get outta here!) knives and some all metal knives that look heavy. The William Henrys are very thin, also elegant, but so are many others posted here.

I've long tired of carrying a knife that can carve up a buffalo. My current carry is a Case Mini Copperlock. It's elegant, capable and drops nicely in the pocket. The carbon fiber Sodbuster Jr. is another nice pocket knife with a somewhat beefier blade, but it doesn't lock.

Stretch you budget 20 or so $$ and check out the BM 531 axis. I just picked it up. It's featherlight, has a nice g10 scale and is not to big and not to small.

I actually just returned that knife...mine had HORRIBLE blade play :/

I just ordered a Spyderco Sage 1. We'll see how it is, though it's received universal praise as a gentleman's EDC.

I currently use a Spyderco Cricket, Buck 301 or Cold Steel Medium Espada for this purpose. All are great knives within your price range.

Spyderco Delica Ti/Damascus. A little over your budget, but only $20 or so. Its thin, lightweight, great size, ergonomic, and quite classy. My wife just bought me one for Christmas and I already love it! It's definitely my new dress knife, and probably a new member of the regular rotation.

It is a great all around knife and a very fine dressknife, light weight and good looking but big enough to be functional. And unlike much of the advice given earlier, within the op s price range.

Kershaw Skyline. I've got a Damascus version I carry every Sunday for church meetings. Lightweight and can sit in the pocket or use the clip. The CF version may be even lighter. I wish they had one with CF scales and the Damascus blade.

A good choice. As a John_0917 noted, pocket clips and dress pants don't play well together. The Sage, with the Spydie wire clip, neither tore up my slacks, nor was very noticeable. It also left the suit jacket lining intact. Some clips can be murder on the jacket lining, as well.

That said, a clipless knife in an outer jacket pocket, or a very small knife clipped to one of the inner breast pockets is also an option. Unclipped knives will have a tendency to exit suit pockets (pants or jacket) at the most inopportune times, so be mindful.

I am now alternately using two smaller knives (sold my Sage 1) when in a suit. A Benchmade 485 Valet, w/o the clip, and a a GEC 83 little lockback. One of the smaller Al Mar lockbacks might also be a good choice.

What about a small fixed blade and a pocket sheath, something like a case desk knife or a bark river bumblebee.

Spyderco Caly 3.5 zdp-189!!!

Second this. I carry mine with suits all the time. Long blade with excellent steel and ergos in a slim, smooth (gentle on wool), very refined package--best of all worlds. It's not far off the $125 budget (and I got mine a few months ago for less than that, actually--they have fluctuated back up more recently). Caly 3 is just as good for these purposes if you prefer the slightly shorter blade and/or the lower price.
