What was this dude on? How could anyone ,especially someone into knives make such a colossal mistake claiming a gas station knife has the same materials?Really, show me where I can get a ti frame locked s30v blade! Then he digs the grave even deeper with the car reference. 4 wheels and an engine has nothing to do with materials and features.
I get it why folks buy Striders, they have a design and ethos like no other but the spec ops stuff, personally ,I font buy that marketing /legend fluff. I guess they carry Stridets but why not if you give them away to these guys for free? Give them to the girl guides and they could make that claim too.lol. All this so and so use our knives really is pure fluff and has no bearing on the knife itself. That's why they over charge, you are paying for them to make these claims because they give them to these units. Jeez folks just think about it. It's great marketing. Anyone could give away knives to some military unit and claim they use their knives really. Do these guys really use a knife any harder than some corn Fed farm boy? Doubt it.
From an objective pov the ZT spanks the Strider with better fit and finish, apparently an equal warranty, 3D machining, auto opening and equal materials.
I would hop those who choose Strider do so for it's design and not the marketing because if you go down that path it leads to some not so great places. I say forget the freaking gossip and buy a knife for what it is.
Let's be honest the whole gas syationthing was a mistake.
Knives are an opinionated subject. Some are attracted to the hype and that's fine, your money, your choice but this is about comparing knives right? This is very simple ,the Strider is far more expensive but is no better a knife unless the premium is worth it for the different ergonomics. Again, marketing does zip for me,I just don't care who enforces it,it will never improve the product I purchase. In Striders defense the're tons of folks who either like their ergonomics or buy the hype and you can easily sell it for good money. I just don't buy that it's any better a knife until I see an actual test proving this.
