Need help fixing my Bader III, Bader co wont help me

Stacy tells it correctly.

I also talked to Dan this afternoon while he was trying to get in touch with Charlie. He was 100% committed to help Charlie with a number of options

This is the commitment of the Bader folks regarding all knifemakers, whether they're a maker of "status" (as mentioned in one post) or one just starting out.

One other thing.

Every one has a right to post what they think, but think before you post.

Good for you Charlie.

Carrie, Dan, and Paul are the best people I've ever dealt with in the 9 years I've been working with knives. They have helped me fiqure out any problem I created with my Bader111. Excellent machine, super fine people. I know you have got it fixed now, as soon as they saw the pictures it's is absolute what the problem is. I feel confident they didn't know it was that way when it shipped.

Look what Dan done for me was amazing and I am trully greatful for it, I will definitely keep my business with him but what I wrote in the post was the truth, I am greatful we where able to sort this out and I wash my hands of this problem. We can all get back to talking about beautiful knives and how to make them, AL what Stacey said was correct but what I said was also, and I dont regret starting this thread. Lets put this behind us and look toward a better future, Charlie

Charlie-man,

I am so pleased to hear that its gonna work out for you.

While I agree that its always good to keep a "Cool Head" and try to work it out, I wonder how many phone calls from you it would have taken had you not posted here.

I think you did the right thing by posting your problem, and it goes to show how fellow knifemakers will step-up-to-bat to assist a brother.

Thanks to Stacy, a real gentleman, and others for helping to resolve this.

This is a wonderful community, and I am proud to be a part of it.

I am very greatful to be a part of this community also and look forward to posting happy and helpful stuff, not stuff like this but I am happy and feel like I am taken care of by Bader. I look forward to this being put behind us all, Charlie

Mr. Dark

First , as far as I gathered from my conversation this afternoon with Dan Johnson , fellow knifemakers had NOTHING to do with assisting Charlie. A few knifemakers and others just inflamed the whole situation with their negative posts.

Charlies problems were worked out by Charlie and Bader alone.

Second, Charlies problems would have been resolved whether he posted on this forum or not. I suggest you re-read Stacy's last post. By the way, Bader was resolving problems a long time before Bladeforums came along.

I applaud your desire to post and congratulate Charley. I congratulated him too...... but without sniping at Bader. This was not Bader's fault.

I hope this finally puts Charlies issues to bed, issues that were being worked out and should not have been brought to this forum in the first place.

Al I get the feeling you think I am at wrong here, The only problem with all this is I was told the only thing that could be done for me was a trade towards a new grinder!! No one ever mentioned a refund, or even fixing the machine. POINT BLANK that was it! I PLAINLY ASKED DOUG IF the only option I had was to trade towards a new one and he said YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that pissed me off because on top of me waiting for a phone call I was also not offered a fix on the machine. You can bet your ass if anyone at anytime offered me a fix or a refund this would have never been posted., But the problem has been fixed and I did just what I said I would do and posted it, and was very proud too, so dont come on here and question my integrity or try and tell me it didnt belong on here because it did. A simple yes we will help you is all it would have taken. Its going to be fixed and I am glad it ended this way. I dont give a damn what Dan told you AL, thats what I heard on the phone, and the problem was not in route to being fixed! Plain and damn simple I was told on the phone I had one option and that was it, now I am man enough to tell the truth about the situation and keep my head about it. I didnt run around here and cuss Dan up and down or his company I stated the facts, If you like it you like it, If you dont you dont.

Charlie... people are going to believe who and what they want. Don't worry about it, you're getting your needs satisfied, Bader owners are satisfied that the legendary Bader customer service is continuing on and Dan and the Bader crew are happy that this is all put to rest. Go drink a beer or grind some.. never mind, go drink a beer :p

Hi Charlie,

Ouch.......

I didn't say that you were wrong. I didn't question your integrity.

I didn't say anything about any options offered to you by Dan or Doug. No one discussed that with me....it's none of my business.

I said the problem was worked out between you and Bader, and no one else.......and I said it would have been worked out just as fast even if you didn't post your situation here. Bader is known for it's service, and that's a fact.

You posted that Dan "made this right" and what he did for you was "amazing". I believe you really feel that way and I'm happy for you.

Now.........are we done?

Yes, The problem is solved. We all need to let it go to bed now.
Little else of constructive use can be said here.

Lets all let Charlie make some knives and then we can talk about those....after all, that is what this forum is for.

Charlie, glad it worked out.

Stacy

I have 3 bader spacesavers, all purchased used each had it own little issues to resolve.

The guys at bader have always been there to help even a cheap ass second hand user!

Now with well over 10,000 swords made on these three machines during the last 15+ years I just wouldnt look anywhere else. I will at some point add a couple more grinders from bader..... MAYBE even new!

I've been following this thread since its inception because I bought a BIII about 10 years ago and love it. I bought the Bader because I liked its features vs a Burr King or Square Wheel, which were the only other options I knew of at the time.

When my machine arrived it had some shipping damage. I put it right and the machine has run beautifully ever since. The only thing I've changed on it was to put a heavier bolt in the tracking adjustment, as the one that came on it stripped out fairly early. Again, nothing I couldn't just deal with. The Bader's a great machine as far as I'm concerned; wouldn't trade it for anything.

I'm glad your issue got worked out, Charlie. You're going to love that grinder!
