Here is a sample of the "bikini handles" for the Izula. If we go full length on the handles we will cover up the carabiner hole, and that hole makes the Izula in my opinion. So, if you only had one choice do you want the full length handle or the bikini model shown here. These will be optional handles that you can buy separately. We have no plans of shipping the Izula with handles as a package. Before you ask: they are only going to come in canvas micarta at this time with no color option. Each slab is about 3/16" thick.

Also thought you might like to see a size comparison with the new blade:

First, I like the bikini handles.

Second, WHOAH! That RC-10 is super sweet. :)

i don't think they should be full length either. i say go w/ the "bikini model"

and the izula next to the other one looks hilarious! looks like the biggin took a crap and the izula came out!

Those are the handles I pictured in my head when I first heard about Izula handles. I find the carabiner hole pretty handy and don't like the idea of it being rendered useless.

Well I think the handle in the photo looks good....but if I personally need a knife that size with a handle I will just use my rc-3.....I like my Izula naked. It is my most used blade.....The skel. handle is the reason i carry it daily....

I definitely like the bikini handles. Are they hollow so you can store stuff inside like the HEST? Are they definitely going to be using the Hex screws or flat tip screws?

those actually look nice. Though for handling the knife I'd prefer full slabs (I think, as I had no opportunity of testing), but those look great, they preserve the character of the knife.

It looks quite different with full slabs ...

uhm. can't decide without handling first ... but as I bought the knife for its looks in the first place:

do the bikini handles

I like the bikini handles but how does it feel in your hand....that is the question.

Full handles would fell better but I hate to lose that large hole. These bikini handles are fine when you choke up on the knife and they also add a good purchase fro extracting from the sheath.

I'd lean toward bikini as well. I kinda get a finger into the edge there when poping it out of the sheath with my thumb. The hole is definitely a big part of handling the knife for me. And man...that rc10 is hot. The side of my hiking pack is naked and lonely without it.

Really like the looks.
I use the hole to get the izula out from the sheath. So these handles would be great.

I'm with luckykitty. Without being able to feel them out, I'd have to go with the full scales. Reason being I'm afraid that the short scales would make it feel awkward to use. I did notice that when I cord wrapped only the section that would be covered by the "bikini scales" the knife felt shorter and weird. When I wrapped the full length, it felt larger than it was and gave me more leverage. My vote is for the full slabs. However, I trust your judgement, and if you think that it feels fine with the bikini scales, then I'll take your word for it.

Although the bikini slabs look great, I feel like full slabs would be much more useful. And lets face it, RAT knives are meant to be used.

That's why I'd prefer to have full length slabs on the Izula. It would fill the hand much better, IMO.
