Negatives about the para2?

O damn she's here. The lock is backwards to me and it's bigger than I expected, but it feels great and I think I like it. The lock is actually fun when you get used to it

Good looking blade there clich!!! Before long you'll have this messed up dull spot on top of the right thumbnail from flicking it open haha

You're gonna like it!If you change up the pocket clip don't forget to loctite it.

I have 2 of them, with a 3rd on order. One is an S30V beater that I use for travel and situations where I might lose or damage the knife. The other is the gray G10 sprint that is my go to EDC and all around favorite knife. The one on order is the blue G10 sprint. I've never been interested in a knife so much that I would consider owning 3 of them, so that about sums up where I stand on the issue. Well OK, I'd like a tiny bit more blade length--seems like it could safely fit in the existing handle, to my untrained eye anyway. I'm a lefty BTW and I find that with a little practice the compression lock is effortless and intuitive to operate.

i would just like a lefty version. i know the standard version can be used left handed with a good amount of ease but its so fluid with the proper hand.

Got my digi-cam yesturday...2 of the same blade? This is a first for me...

Same here, I was surprised when I got it at how large it was. I was actually worried it was going to be too small for me, but the size definately surprised me. Also, mine came tip down right hand clip.

Somebody said that if you swapped the clip that you needed to loctite it? I want to verify this, because I switched my clip for tip up and I didn't put any loctite on it. There was some blue loctite on the threads, but anyways. Do I really need to put some loctite on them? Guess I'll have to go buy another T6 bit, if so, because I broke the one I had on this clip. I have a bad habit of over-tightening.

The only negatives I noted during the many months that I carried a para2 were

1.) The tip is very thin and while it help up fine I still worried about breakage from time to time
2.) The choil, while nice for work, makes the actual cutting edge very small

I think getting rid of the coil and putting a stronger tip would be the only upgrades I can think of. Its a great knife and I really enjoyed. mine. Light as a feather, fast and a fine slicer. I think with the little bit of extra blade a choiless version would be just about perfect.

I have a sickness for para 2s. Just got the s90v sprint and digicam with satin blade today, and man is the s90 cabonfiber wicked:D!! She is a beaut. Usually you will find a reg black g10 para2 in my pocket, I have many high end knives including ZT 350 but the para2 is a perfect edc. and find its way into my pocket most days. I'd put money that you like it:thumbup: I can't wait till yhey make the Millie 2!!

If you tightened them that much, you probably won't need it. I had an experience recently where my clip screws backed out (I had moved the clip to tip up a while ago), so I put a bit of blue loctite on them, and so far, so good.

My biggest gripe about the PM2 is no full serrated option.

I didn't like the CF scales on my PM2, the corners aren't as beveled as the G10 spydies I've owned, and I preferred the old clip on the PM1, but am liking tip up on this knife.

My complaint on mine is that the lock sticks. Other than that, there's nothing to complain about for what it's design to do.

In the back of my mind I have a;ways worried about the tip but it has seemed to be a needless worry. I carry mine almost everyday and have used it for just about everything that it is intended to do and have never had a problem. I think (for me anyway) it's just a perception.

I think that's right...I don't recall (but I didn't try searching...) posts reporting broken tips on the Para (either version). In any case, it is designed to be more of a slicer than a prybar :D - you can't get everything in a single design. :(

Maybe its just me, but its one sweet looking knife. I think the camo/black blade version rocks! I think its a classic, just like the Military. What I want is a Military with a compression lock, then I can die happy.

The difference between Para2 and the original are the improvements made from the first version. Bigger grip space on the handle, more usable choke up choil, evened out profile of the blade tang while the blade is closed, sliiightly longer blade, bigger lanyard hole, self adjusting pivot.

There are few downsides, but if I had to chose, the self adjusting pivot can sometimes lead to some ever so slight blade play. This is no problem though if you just tighten it once in a while. The locking system also works best if you're right handed. It is fully operational with your left hand, but a bit more comfortable with the right.

It might have already been said, but my biggest gripe (and only gripe) with the Para 2 is the detent. This may be caused by the compression lock but regardless, it is quite sticky when flicking the knife open. Not really a huge issue, though. It's a wonderful knife.
