He He He,

Where is the popcorn;).

It's nice to see that we all have our own ideas on how to handle things. Enjoy life my Buck brothers as it's over way to soon.

ugh C' trax has the popcorn ...
not like him to miss a tempest !!!
he must be bussy

I know everyone is different but I would just be happy I did get my knives and do like some have suggested call Buck and get the price adjusted. If this has happened before I would certainly call UPS.

Ok, Dave......I still haven't cracked your code totally, but I'll agree to disagree if you are still disagreeing.

We all love Buck knives anyhow.....we can agree on that.

:D

I say we stay pat on that note. This thread turned into something it shouldn't have. Let's get back to knife talk. Enough with parcel carriers and bad neighbors.

I can see the neighbor opening the package by mistake. Once he saw the knife boxes
clearly marked Buck Knives I am sure he knew they were not his. Opening the boxes and looking at the knives was inappropriate. If all is there it will not effect the value and now he knows you have some real nice knives.

I am sure he knew they were not his.

How can you be sure? Do you know if anyone mails him Christmas gifts? Do you know whether his wife might have ordered the knives for him? Do you know if he happened to buy some Buck knives recently, too, seeing as how we're in the middle of prime hunting season?

You don't know. You are assuming the worst and attaching bad intentions to the guy without any justification.

Yall need to get jobs. I used to like reading all the posts in this forum. No longer. I cant believe what I am reading in this place. Complete and utter child like behavior.. Someone is gonna wind up in jail for revenge or something lIke terroristic threats..GET A LIFE!!! I'm outta here and probably never coming back.....I'm sure after I logout someone is gonna call me a sissy or something like that... oh well...ASTA LA VISTA!!!!!

Not necessarily...

I also get boxes all the time. Supplies; items to be worked on/modified; tools; eBay & GB auction items. Some are packed in the strangest wrappings...with no cover letter...and a return address that I don't recognize...I have to open everything and look at it, and sometimes I have no idea why I received it (people assume because I said 6 months ago that I would work on their item that I still remember it)...

It would be entirely natural for me to open every box and look at what's inside...and if it was a Buck knife, I still wouldn't think it odd...just wonder who it was from/for and what they wanted done...

I generally only look at the shipping label/address/postmark to see what it cost to send it to me, so I'd know what to charge for S&H sending it back...

*Then* I'd notice it wasn't for me...

I'd say you got a good neighbor. Honest, too - and with a sense of moral conduct. If it was me, I'd thank him.

Because UPS will probably misdeliver again...

Once they ship it becomes UPS' responsibility. I'd file a complaint with UPS about the driver that is making these deliveries if this is not the first time this has happened. Getting all upset about it and going on a witch hunt, does very little good.

I'd say you're lucky you got anything at all, if it was misdelivered...This time of year [Xmas] UPS hires MacDonald rejects to augment their deliverymen...The Postal Service does not (in my two towns); they have the part time carriers augment the regulars...and everyone works overtime...but it's all career carriers, no hire-off-the-street-corner "casuals"...

Probably true, but around here the regular UPS drivers are still completely incompetent, the one(s) who covers the area around my house can't get a box to the correct address, the ones in town can get it to the right building but can't get it to the right floor - even with it plainly on the box. We have a very long, rural, driveway - about 1/4 mile - UPS has left boxes on the side of the drive, in the snow, half way to our house more than once.

I use UPS only if there is no other option. USPS or FedEx are much more reliable out here.

[marked Buck Knives I am sure he knew they were not his.]
I am changing the words "I am sure" to "it is possible".
Also, it was an opinion. It is a sad day when you can't
express an opinion on a forum without getting flamed.

It is a sad day when you can't open a package that was delivered to your house without being accused.

...LOL...You're not even close to getting "flamed" mduf...Merely a difference of opinion in the thread. I've never received a package marked "Buck Knife"...not even from Buck. I also get packages sent to me from many outlets and I do open them UNLESS I see someone else's name...:)...If I can't make out the name it gets opened...every time...

There are enought bad things that happen in life you can can't on it and usuall a few good or Great things or memories, it's sad that most people remember the bad ones, so make the best out of a bad situation.

Thank your neighbor, he could've kept it and you would have never know, to
me it sounds like he made an honest mistake and opened the package, weather he looked at who it was addressed to or not i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because he brought it to you in person and told you
he opened it and saw what was inside, if he was dishonest and opened it
and saw the knives he would've probably been all excited and you would be
calling buck saying where are my knives, think of that mess.

As for the knives being lower priced on the website just call up buck and
they will give you the difference back, no big deal.

I understand not being the first to open your package but hey, you got lucky and got your knives, you didn't get them how you would have expected to get them but it was still a good day and you got them, i could of been worse.

These are now your special one of a kind buck knives because they now have a story behind them.

It's not only the Buck knife that is special, it's the story behind the Buck knife that makes it Memorable.

Merry Christmas and God Bless

No one is going to improve on what honesttom just said.
Merry Christmas and a healthy and successful new year for all of us!

(Better luck next thread; this one is tired and needs to sleep. :))
