Nessmuk. Which one and why.

That is probably the best looking production I've seen in a while, regardless of style. the handle looks like it would actually NOT bite your palm nerve spots! No sharp acupressure tool on the butt of the spine! Still a bit thick, but nice, nice looking geometry in the photo.

Okay, I want one.

Gotta throw another vote in for Fiddleback. Andy makes a nice thin, mean slicer, and his handles might be even better than his blades! Sorry for the recycled image...

I'm surprised to not see more Gossmans. His were some of the first I'd seen and along with JK they are what got me hooked on the style.

Just looking at the rebirth of the JK Nessmuk. Hmmm...

I finished this one last week. I recently started grinding a few again.

As to 'why Nessmuk?' I think its the anti tactical nature of the Nessmuk that drives its popularity. Then, they cut and slice pretty good too. They're not an ideal bushcraft knife. They're great with food and flesh. A high convex grind makes for a mean slicer. And they're pretty too. But the end all and be all they are not. Just another good working style of knife that has survived because the design is useful and pretty.

Thanks Andy. Those look absolutely fantastic. Most of my cutting is food/fish/critter.
Sounds like I need one.

i recently scored this CKE2 nessie from the passaround, in a trade from a fellow forum member...

it's a great little knife.. i really like it... it has been seeing a lot of action these past few days that i have had it... the blade is light and thin, making it a perfect little EDC knife suited for pocket and/or neck carry...:)
