Yes sir, that's how men buy knives!! They buy them based on the photos and description and if they arrives as described the deal is done. Only infants, children, spoiled brats and people who belong on QVC buy a knife, get it as described, hold it two weeks and then LIE in order to return it.

Yup, like you if I get something as described that turns out to be something I just don't like I do not burden the seller with my bad choices..............................

You know what I found funny? When you go to Hildo's profile page, in big letters it says "Hildo has NOT made ANY friends yet"

Pretty obvious why!!!
And 0 feedback i need my a$$ kicked until my nose bleeds for just not cancelling the transaction when he wouldnt give me his bf name he just kept saying he subscribes to the exchange threads and he was old enough to own it. From now on no feedback= no knife unless i can speak to you and see you are normal lol. Oh and get this after i ran a search of his name it says hes single rents with another guy and girl and is not married so i wonder how his wife got mad?? The really sad part is knives are basically my life and really my only hobbie and i use pp daily this guy only used it to crook me and if they rule in his favor it would kill my pride to give pp or ebay another cent of my money.

Just so everyone knows auto knives here are no big deal plus i have a permit. Hell where i live they trade shotguns across from city hall on saturdays lol.

I just bought a adv butcher and i hateeee it way to weird and huge but guess what it was just as described so its mine now.

ADV is a pain to deal with but if your Butcher is in good shape, you will be able to get your money back selling it here.

 You sure do sound like a good ole country boy! I'm sorry that you're having to deal with this mess...I'm really hoping that you'll be informing us, that PayPal ruled in your favor.

I for one, thank you, Flynlow, for taking one for the team (us BF member's). Even with due diligence, any member can fall victim to something like this, on any given sales transaction; we see incidents like this, nearly every week.

It would be quite interesting, if hildo, would weigh in here, & share his version (not that I doubt yours, Flynlow).

Best of luck!

You had me rolling Ira, I'm sure glad you are one of the good guys around here.

Yeah i seen all the bad feedback on adv after i got mine lol. Its a beautiful knife in great shape its blue with rootbeer backspacer and is marked proto inside. I havent even tried to unload it since im picture posting challenged it makes selling kinda hard lol. But im sure i can get my $385 back .

It kind of struck me as a little odd and off put that he says he's married, yet rents with another guy, then said wanted his friends at school to see it. These three statments just aren't adding up. I feel for you, brother! This whole thing smells like low tide at Revere beach.

Thanks kelama i am just a rural country boy drive a lifted dodge truck and wear redwings everyday i started trading knives at 5yrs old with my papaw on saturdays old case xx and tested of course then somehow i paid over 300 for a chris reeve to see what it was all about well i liked it but i wasnt hooked until i got a large annual redwood man that knife oozed character now i am a crk addict check my thread out about finding a ldc i posted a pic of my collection. As for hildo posting he knows soon as he does he has to say im telling the truth about the wife return then over 2 weeks later trying to send it back and telling pp its broken because i have every single email from him and will post them if he replies. Plus i think he likes messing with this ole hillbilly im not used to dealing with trolls lol.

Have the post office hold it for pickup and open it in the presence of the postmaster.

Have you sent him a link to this thread ?? Would like for him to explain why he thinks this is a legit reason to return a knife.

That would be nice if he replied... By the sounds of it, he doesn't have a legitimate reason other than he changed his mind, and I and others already stated, that isn't a valid reason to expect a refund...

Yep... LOL

Jessica at paypal told me basically the same thing she told me to have the post office hold it and as soon as they rule return to sender. Or if they somehow side with him open it in front of the postal employees if that works out like that it will be very sad not just for me but for all the honest traders . Esav if you want i can forward you all his emails if you would like to post his return reason and show the time frame when he messaged me for return. I actually contacted charlie he has the replies and he was the one who suggested i tell him mail it on his dime over 2 weeks ago. I thought it was over after he didnt respond for 2 weeks. Wrong 5am he decides to say it just got mailed and he only opened it twice and it was stored in his bed room and he doesnt usally do buisness like this but he wants a refund.

It doesn't matter if he doesn't usually do business this way. The fact is, it appears by the postings here, he just changed his mind about it, and so far he hasn't offered any other info pertaining to the transaction. So now he DOES do business this way.

Two weeks is ridiculous. Granted, things happen in life, like getting sick or family emergency. Heck, it could be he didn't even have the $$$ to send it back, but with no communication, it appears that isn't the case.

If you sent it via usps and it is returned this way......isnt this a crime...a felony? Civilians can't send and receive autos through the mail can they? Opening in front of a post master seems like a good idea...except that its an auto and this cant be legal is it?

Yes civilians can ship and receive autos, but not in all states or municipalities... Here in Oregon, we can buy sell, and ship autos, and carry them as long as they aren't fully concealed

Just so everyone knows auto knives here are no big deal plus i have a permit. Hell where i live they trade shotguns across from city hall on saturdays lol.

Autos may be legal where you live, but it isn't the case in all states. It sounds like where you live, your CCW permit also covers auto knives. In Oregon it does not.
The problem could be that it isn't legal to own an auto where the buyer lives...

I'm not a vindictive person, but in this case, I hope PP rules in your favor, you get to keep the $$$, and he is left to deal with the knife in whichever fashion he chooses. If he just doesn't like the knife, he can do what most of us here would do, sell it. Not expect the seller to refund his money because he doesn't like it, or is having remorse about spending almost $400

Its my fault i just thought he was a normal buyer and honestly i have made friends here from buying and selling so when he kept saying he was a member i just sold it too him. I even messaged a close friend i made here about shipping to him he said no worries if hes one of us on here. Lol hind sight 2020 i guess.

So, he may have wanted his money back for an R/C project rather than the knife. Looks like buyers remorse more than anything else at this point. What has happened here to the OP is the primary reason why as new members, you need to prove yourself to those that have some tenure. Trust is something that is earned through actions and time, nothing else can "speed up" that process and it shouldn't be. Some new members were simply outraged a short time ago because they were not treated with open arms regarding transactions and asked to jump through some hoops in order to get a deal done. The same people were also very quick to blast each other in a thread citing very rudimentary issues that were more of a mild annoyance rather than being a genuine issue (making a mountain out of a molehill due to no communication/omission). The behavior displayed is not what is expected here. This place is for adults, not necessarily kids and if someone cannot even get their story straight or be honest, they do not deserve to be trusted by the many here that are.

Most people here are great, and honest. But, you can find a bad one anywhere...
The great thing about BF's is, there are lots of people here who will support a member who has a problem with someone trying to take advantage of them.
The Mods will do all they can to help as well.

I actually sold it very cheap $240 so he got a great deal. I realize the auto thing i was saying that as if i have to open it in front of the post office employees it wont be no big deal.

Very true Charlie. Nice detective work too

Understood. I hope this can be resolved quickly, and you can get back to buying and selling here.
It's a hard way to learn a lesson, but next time I'm sure you will do some research on the person you are dealing with. That includes sellers you may be buying from.

You can do a search using the members name here, or if you aren't finding much, you can also post a thread asking if anyone has had dealings with a particular member.
It could be a member has had dealings buying and selling, but sometimes people don't always leave feedback, so it won't give them a rating.

Excactly when i first bought and sold here i expected it to take time to be trusted to be honest im still trying to keep everyone happy and prove myself i want to be excepted and trusted. I didnt to start this thread and was kinda afraid to rock the boat but the more i thought about me trusting him because he said he was a member the more i realize we are a community of buyers and sellers who need to stick together and i should let everyone know it could happen to them. Just imagine if it was a used knife the excuses i would have heard !!!????

Also, subscribed. I really want to know how this turns out. Sounds like a kid who lied to you

I really wish there was a way to make people who have disputes with other members to have to come up to the plate and tell their side . It would sure make people think twice because they would be held accountable for their actions .. I know this will never happen but they couldn't hide behind their Mom I mean Mommy .
