Never thought I'd...

That is a sword...

It has no pommel to end one's opponent rightly, so it's not a sword!

Actually, it's very interesting stuff, what constitutes a sword and knife/messer. Gonna take this off tangent a bit - some historian could correct me, but I understand that in medieval Europe, a sword is a sword because it's not built like a knife or messer - a knife has scales. Something to do about swordsmiths only being allowed to make swords and knifemakers only being allowed to make knives - guild policies and all that. So, my understanding is that even if the blade and overall shape is exactly the same, what makes a sword a sword and a messer a messer then was the way the handle was made... again, correct me if I'm wrong.

Trusting linerlocks after my experience with a CRKT M16.

I'm in an odd quandary, loving flippers but disliking framelock and metal handles. Currently saving towards a Brian Tighe Button lock model.

The Hogue EX-05 has one of the best flipping actions I have ever experienced. It is a totally unique action which feels like it shoots the blade out like it's assisted, but it is not an assisted knive. They have some sort of system which makes it flip like that.

Oh and it's button lock.

There is the Freeman flipper too.

Never thought I'd become such a handle/lock/opening/steel/maker...etc, focused snob that I'd narrow my collection of hundreds down to just a few "keepers".
But I'm getting close.
Keep your eyes peeled for some more ridiculously cheap sales on the exchange. Everything else is being liquidated.
I may regret it but as I said, I'm focusing.

I never thought I'd spend more than the cost of a Case knife. I never thought I'd have a custom fixed blade to used while hunting. I never thought I'd buy a custom slipjoint. I never thought I'd buy a grail. I NEVER thought I would have the desire to make a knife. I never thought I'd be broke from buying tools. Slippery slope....

I never thought that there would ever be a site dedicated to knives and knife nuts. Back in the day long before internet I decided to become a kniifemaker and I thought that it was a highly unusual hobby for only a very few. I had no idea that knife nuts would go mainstream.

Dont spend much time on the Ole internets do ya? They have forums dedicated to everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!

Think up the most off the wall thing you can (it can even be illegal), there's a forum or message board dedicated to it somewhere...

Same as several people here it seems. Going from everything modern and synthetic to everything old fashioned and natural.

Never thought my wife would buy me knives, she's gotten me two Spyderco and two CRK's so far. And a Spyderco knife case.

Never thought after buying, selling, trading all these knives in the last few years since joining BF, that I would focus my knife interests into what would basically be more or less the same kinda knife over and over again rather than have a big Diver collection.

Never thought I'd have a such a small collection of knives be worth more than a $1,000 and occasionally growing.

After joining BF never thought I'd be OK with edc'ing cheapie knives which I enjoy as much as pricier ones.

Still waiting for my brother to finally edc some of the knives I've given him over the years rather than have them sit in his gun safe which is what they do currently. Next year it's going to be a protech for his bday and if he doesn't edc that....!

Be fiddling with photography again due to knives.

--I just posted that comment in another thread so figured I'd drop it here too--

I never thought I would spend nearly $2000 on a knife. But there I went, spending nearly $2000, soiling my pants, vomiting profusely and sitting in the corner of a room in a panic. Then the box arrived and Ive been smiling ever since.

Pics or it didn't happen. :D

I never though i would like or want one of those silly Swiss Army Knives. Now i have a couple dozen and carry one everyday.
